  • Ward always has an excuse for why he can't take fights: Can't go to the UK for Froch, Kovalev "where do I go?", and I'm sure he'll say I can't make 164... always an excuse..

Triple G = willing to fight anyone, but not going to move up to full 168 when he plans on fighting the Canelo-Cotto winner or Lemiuex at 160..makes no sense... plus who wants to give harmless Ward an advantage with weight when the dude clinches and punches every time without warning in the U.S. especially Cali particularly Oakland..

Ward can keep adding to his excuses and having his promotional team pay to get his fights on TV... keep fighting the Paul Smiths of the world...
You honestly believe all that crap, or are you trolling?

It goes both ways. Ward wants to have the size advantage over Golovkin.
Kovalev will walk into the ring for his fight with Mohammedi at/near 190lbs. For argument's sake, let's not even worry about what he comes into camp at.

Ward and Golovkin walk into the ring within five pounds of each other.

keep trying to ignore that if you want

... but he can make 160 for Floyd...

... or, wait! what if he can make 157 to fight Cotto for the WBC and 'lineal" belts? Huh?

Do you have evidence that Ward was in the 170's? All you got is the Dawson fight....

A Ward fan just said Ward wanted to fight at 172 - to see how his body would respond and not have to stress over making weight after such a long layoff.

So what is it? Does this guy need to drop alot of weight or what?

Because if that fight falls through, Golovkin's reputation is ****ed.
That's exactly what I was thinking . Because GGG is ducking Ward so hard , Lemeuix can probably demand 70/30 and make triple Duck swallow it because he's soooooo desparate to avoid Ward and has absolutely no where to go for his next fight . I know Lemeuix is watching and laughing all the way to the bank .

Cannot demand a catchweight for a mandatory defense. GGG has already stated that he will never accept a catchweight to fight for a middleweight title. Any middleweight who wants a catchweight for a title fight against another middleweight is a pussy. There is also a possibility that by the time that fight comes up for discussion, GGG will be holding two, possibly three MW titles making him the A side and in total control of that fight. Canelo or Cotto will have nowhere to go as they will be contractually obligated to fight him at the division limit.

                So good luck with that.

On a teleconference this week promoting Kovalev-Mohammedi, Main Events CEO Kathy Duva, who promotes Kovalev, was asked about it and she sounded optimistic.

"We have been talking to Andre Ward's people all week,” she said. “And I think we all agree the fight is going to happen. It is just a matter of when. The talks have been very amicable. They are deciding who they want to fight next, and we have Sergey's schedule for his next few fights planned. By the end of next year, maybe a little sooner, you’re going to get to see that fight.

I wonder if Roc Nation will do business with Haymon. Would love to see Ward vs. Fonfara, Beterbiev, Stevenson. Maybe Arum will set up Ward vs. Gilberto Ramirez @ 168? That would be nice for 2015!
Only reason Duva is bringing up Ward's name is that, after the Mohammedi fight, Kovalev basically has the Chilemba fight before he's forced to start vacating titles.

                  • Ward is bigger than GGG. No duh but he's no bigger than Chavez and Froch who GGG would fight in a heartbeat at the full 168lb limit for Froch and whatever weight Chavez feels like he wants to weigh in at.

Ward only has one fight night weight listed, that was 3 years ago vs Dawson - Kovalev weighed 181lbs vs Silahk when Ward weighed 176lbs vs Dawson.

Don't claim Ward is only 5lbs away from Golovkin when you don't have anything to support that aside from a single fight. AND if he does only weigh 5lbs more and stays in the 170's - then 164 isn't going to weaken him that much.
