I mean, it's fairly obvious, you kinda answered it yourself. Because GGG makes them extremely insecure for a variety of reasons, and there is a very good chance Andre wins and kills the GGG-hype stone dead.

Saying that, I would dearly love to see the fight too. Love both guys, and it's going to be difficult to see one lose but it has lots of intriguing factors at play.

I don't believe that. You're downplaying this tremendously. Winner of this fight is on the direct path to becoming the best of this era and the HBO machine will be in full force.

And this hater is talk is getting lame. Its weak and a counter argument used by peoe who have nothing to offer. We are fight fans that want to see matchups like this while the fighters are in their primes, not when they are in their mid 30s cashing out.

Ward winning is expected. I'm a bigger Ward fan than GGG, but it is what it is... GGG is an average sized Middleweight. Sure it'd be a OK win, but it's nothing legacy defining for Ward. His talent is already confirmed with his run at 168.

Call it downplaying or whatever. The odds are stacked against GGG in regards to a Ward fight, i'm not surprised he's asking for ****** catchweights. Not really sure what you are talking about with the hater thing, i'll leave that with you

Ward is an established talent, who offers little financially. Yes he offers a great legacy win for GGG, but it's a pretty big ask, one that GGG doesn't NEED at all.

It's even stranger on Ward's side. What does he gain from beating an average sized Middleweight? GGG will be called a hype job if he loses to Ward, despite the fact he'd have it all stacked against him.

With his budding stardom some are beginning to ask is he really that good. Me included. and at 33/34 he is an adult man and will not grow into 168. He needs to go there now for the big fights cause at 160 there is nothing.

For me he doesnt need to fight Ward right away but he needs to up his level on comp and at 160 i dont see it but hey its his career. He stays there he will never be this ATG that his fans think he is already

Hes a homerun hitter living off batting practice and has yet to face an elite pitcher. You get the oohhs and aahhhs but after awhile you begin to question whether he is an Albert Pujols or a Pedro Cerano.

Ward was 173 at the 30 day mark for his last fight. The 172 was more about making an impression and being able to fight an opponent coming off 2 losses, without justifying him as a legitimate title defense.

I'd also love to see the fight, but I know people will refuse to accept the fact that GGG has it all against him. The nature of the sport (and media machine) means sadly that GGG will lose some of his hype and marketability for a loss against a clearly bigger, and very talented man.

Ward will be favored against anybody he faces. That's no excuse. He has maybe 5 years left and his biggest fights are GGG and Kovalev from a legacy perspective. There is no reason why this fight shouldn't be happening for boxing reasons.

I understand business wise why it's not happening but business BS robbed us of Floyd/Pac in their primes. Now this fight is headed down that same path.

That's what I think it is, they're sick of the praise he gets and him losing brings him, and his fans, down to earth. I dont see how losing to arguably one of the best fighters in the last five years makes him a bum or hype job but that's how they feel. It's amusing because it's the same reason ggg fanatics want Floyd to fight him. The detractors have the same sickness.

Yea, that's absurd. Ggg beating Ward legitimizes him in everyone's eyes and puts him in a legit atg mw discussion. Hell even losing in a great fight gives him credibility.
