it's funny that i dont hear any boycott talks from the same ppl that said boycott floyd vs chino...and chino is likely more exciting that ggg and kovalev put together..there is nothing caculated with him..he just wants to end you///but if we did boycott how smart we would be..kovalev would be off hbo and right on pbc where everyone could fighter everyone..hbo does not love boxing they only air it bc ppl pay for it

the promoter can care less about his legacy..she basically says with this headline i want tv time and gate...hbo is right along with me that we can feed him anyone and ppl will watch..but your opening the door to resume critics, but not in kovalevs case he's proved himself vs bhop and pascal..

She's right. When it comes to casuals, so long as they know that the fight will end in a dramatic stoppage or KO, they will tune in. They dont care about the competitiveness of it. They tune in for the entertainment.
Pit 2 slick boxers against one another and the average casual will turn the channel after 2 rounds of posing and jabbing.

She's got a partial point.
If I'm bored with nothing to do or watch on a Saturday night and I know Kovalev is fighting, I would tune in expecting a possible KO or exciting fight.
Now against an actual named opponent, I will make it a priority to tune in and watch. That's the difference I think between watching him vs a named opponent and just a tune-up fight/no name mandatory.
