Floyd has taken criticism for every opponent he's fought in the past few years in regards to his legacy, so how is Berto different. No opponent will ever be good enough to the haters. True, still i dont think Floyd's relatives are a good source for an objective view on his career, even if its chill @ss Uncle Jeff. Only thing that surprises me is that there are ppl who actually care about Jeff's opinion.

If Floyd was using Berto as a smoke screen the whole time to make Khan/Thurman more appealing as an opponent and announces the fight last minute that would be absolutely brilliant. Doubt it tho.

damn people relax.. just think of it as a tune up for his 50th fight .. and its on for free, its not like pacquiao vs rios being on PPV, now that sht is offensive.

i look at this fight kinda like Hopkins vs Murat.

people dont give half this criticism when other guys fight bums or has beens.. just look at ggg as a perfect example, his whole resume is utter trash yet hes a monster and boogeyman.. i can make the case berto has a stronger resume than ggg.

i blame this whole thing on thurman, khan and brook ducking each other for the past two years. had those guys fought each other, there would be a clear legit opponent floyd couldve picked.

Pretty much how I hope it works out. Mayweatherr fights Berto, a fight shakes out in some kind of combination among the three guys most mentioned, the winner gets the #50.

fair point...dont think it entirely excuses Berto as an opponent or why Floyd needs a tune up (a tune up that will pay him $32 million btw) but it is frustrating that all 3 claim to be the guy to beat Floyd yet they arent exactly knocking doors down to get in the ring with each other to prove who is #2 in the division, Bradley holds that spot right now and he deserves the fight more than anybody at the moment.

Actually, see above regarding waiting em out til they're sub-prime and/or too small. If he were fighting legit challenges, you'd hear no complaints from me and most boxing fans. But the thing is the guy isn't taking tough challenges in the past several years.
