It's not the first time he said something similar. During a press conference with Eubanks Jr., he said that Golovkin would beat the both of them in the same evening. And you could tell he believed that. What would be hilarious would be if he was to beat Lee for his title only to discover the WBO made GGG his mandatory defense.

Froch was being sarcastic, it's difficult to tell sometimes I guess. lol

He did say afterwards that he was joking and that he was basically mocking boxing fans who were saying GGG could beat him. He's since said a number of times that he'd beat GGG easy because he's too big and too strong for him. I saw this interview a few days ago where he said it again:

I like his honesty but then you can't say "I'm a born winner" straight after that if you are only going in to fights you know you can win.

As a young fighter on the come up, you can't talk like this even if you are just being honest. You should say you are the best, even if it is a blatant lie or fans laugh at you. In boxing media, confidence/arrogance gets you more attention than downplaying yourself.

tbh i think saunders is the only guy in boxing who can sit opposite the eubanks and still manage be the most annoying person in the room. i hope he doesn't beat lee because otherwise that wbo strap is going to be out of the reach of the division's genuine world class fighters for a while
