Beating Ward would not make Golovkin any bigger a star.

Could GGG move back down after a fight at 168? Probably. But to do it properly and safely at his age he should take about three months to gain the muscle mass and get accustomed to it and then another three months or so to lose the weight carefully and properly. That means just the Ward fight should take half a year of prep, before and after. As a result, such a fight should bring in at least double the revenue of a regular fight as it will take the place of two regular fights. To really be worth the effort and risk, it should bring in TRIPLE the revenue of a regular fight. At this point in time, a Ward fight would not bring in that kind of money and as a result is not worth the effort and risk required.

triple bum is 33 years old and hasnt even faced a B level opponent yet .. lol the guy is trash.. hot trash

Nothing unexpected here. Team GGG knows this boy ain't in Ward's league. They also know they have a cushy lil fan base that is perfectly content watching up beat up bums and claiming little guys are scared to fight him.

WOW! We got the new flomo's vs pactards going on in here.. using the same arguments to justify the same bullshit..

if managers/advisers/promoters weren't too greedy and the fighter actually got 100% of their money.. we'd have way better fights.. Ward is a diva without the status, home cooked and thinks his worth is more than it actually is.. he's not fan friendly and he sure as heck isn't a villain like the floydie..

all golovkin has done is win the Mexican fan base, which makes him a potential star, if he keeps feeding us bullshit ko's..

ward will not fight GGG.. funny how he made dawson come down, but he wont meet half ways.. or how he won't go up to light heavy but he want GGG to go up?

I just can't wait for September 12th!!! Mayweahter vs Berto will be epic, not stop action packed farewell to TBE!

          on another note.. good riddance...

Golovkin scored huge TV rating and packed venue in California.

Did you guys hear the California crowd BOO LOUDLY when Kellerman brought up Andre Ward's name in the post fight interview with GGG?

Ward on BET scored 325 thousand viewers with a 0.09 demographic rating to finish in 71st place the day's cable ratings list.

Golovkin is CLEARLY the A side.

GGG's fanbase is probably WAY bigger than Oakland California..

The difference is that if you go and fight the very best fighter at the next weight up, you really are at a disadvantage. When GGG moves up to 168, he may never be able to move back down effectively.
