There you have it. Everybody is crapping on and talking about a fight that hasn't even been officially made. Until the Mayweather camp announces the opponent, lets not think its Berto. I think the Mayweather just said that to stir things up like they always do.

Interesting that Khan has been the frontrunner for this fight and Floyd has put up two unrealistic opponents both trained by Hunter, and has now leaked that it might be Berto for free which is equally unlikely.

A conspiracy theorist might say that it will be Khan and this was all just a plan to throw Khans training schedule out and give Floyd that advantage he seems to need in every fight.

Or he will say he wanted to fight Berto for free but there wasnt time for the advertising so its on ppv.

That earlier poster who was commenting on the possible lack of preparation is quite correct regarding the logistics..... and in 2 weeks time, I can see that could become a problem.....

..... but nothing is stopping Berto, or whoever, from training.

You want time to confirm top guys for sparring, schedule your gym time, and your team needs to be on point..... but that should not be a problem at this stage.

But the main point is, intentionally delaying the announcement, in order to affect your opponents preparation..... is most definitely not required for an opponent of Bertos calibre.

Mayweather let Canelo prepare, and he let Pacquiao prepare.... so why the fcuk would he be worried about Berto? This is hardly a top fight where Mayweather will need to pull out all stops.

The delay is just as likely to hinge around the opponent, or the broadcasting, as it is around Mayweather.

This smells like all the fake opponents they usually throw out to gauge public reaction, but there are too many better qualified fighters in this instance, even putting aside the fact he schooled 2 fighters already that beat Berto. This would be the equivalent of an exhibition match, like when Manchester United go and play a match in Asia just to sell merchandise. Just utterly pointless. I'd rather see Canelo 2/Cotto 2/JMM 2/ Pacquaio 2/ Maidana 3/ hell even De La Hoya 2. Even Ortiz 2 would before attractive than Berto. It's gonna be Thurman or Brook or Khan who get the call. -Did 7k live gate at the Barclays, in a venue that holds a minimum 16k for sporting events. In the city with the largest ****** population in the country, with the most accessibility for traveling Brits, facing a home town fighter who'd just headlined a Pacquiao PPV. "I'm a draw doe"

-Continues to use every excuse in the book to duck a title shot and career high pay day in front of 80k fans.

The Bolton Beggar needs to take care of his Garcia and Peterson problems and keep Floyd's name out of his mouth.

I am a Mayweather fan, but I have no interest whatsoever in that fight.

Well, somebody in the know leaked the Berto on free tv thing. If Floyd thinks he can tease us with that BS matchup on free tv, then turn around & make it PPV instead, he can shove it up his ass. All up in his ass.
