Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather's Next Move is Still Being Ironed Out

To be free or not to be.

That's a question that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has to answer.

He has a lot on his mind.

He is currently training and trying to figure out if he wants to have the final fight of his career on free television instead of PPV.

While most fans would celebrate Mayweather fighting on CBS to avoid shelling out close to $100, someone with knowledge of the looming deal said the idea of fighting on free TV is a stretch.

No way a fight with Berto is worthy of PPV. No way. I wouldnt pay for this fight. Im pretty sure the big selling point of this fight will be that its on free TV but if they do get greedy and try throwing it on Showtime PPV then they can expect less than 100k buys,.

hate to break it to u but floyd could fight the guy working at wendys and its worthy of a ppv with only couple fights left honestly though if he does fight on cbs that would be a very cool move on mayweathers part the problem is the anti mayweather pr machine that fighters have been using to sell themselves may make it where it doesnt matter and people wouldnt fully appreciate it

"Mayweather is reported to have a guarantee of around $30 million per fight in his Showtime deal. However, a source said the deal is flexible and wouldn't preclude him from fighting on CBS".

              That's from this article.

Mayweather promotions are a bunch of amateurs, they should have been running the numbers on this since the inception of PBC and definitely right after the Pac fight.

Al's probably pressuring Floyd to fight on PBC whilst Floyd favors the PPV route. Floyd on PBC does more for PBC than anyone else.

I can see CBS having a difficult time selling ad time. I do not think a lot of companies want to be associated with Floyd right now.

Maybe it will be khan or Thurman.

Keyword is "flexible". I'm sure the $32mil guarantee is exclusively for PPV fights. No way does any company in their right state of mind guarantee a fighter $32 mil without any ppv revenue. This isnt the superbowl where they can sell 30 second ads for millions of dollars. Especially against someone like Berto.
