Always thought Kovalev's demeanor in the ring was somewhat like Morales. The way he flows and feints with his offense with both hands is like it as well, just with more power. But the similarities are simply due to both of them being bad ass offensive fighters, with serious skill. Skill and kill.

Morales has never been a counter puncher!
All Mexican greats were coming-forward brawlers with iron chin. Marquez, Lopez and Barrera are the exception. I personally don't consider Marquez as a Mexican great though. His legacy revolves around Pacquiao K.O and compettitve fights, nothing else.
He lost to Barrera "robbery", and to Pacquiao 2 times + Draw. He doesn't have any other significant win.Comment
