I find this whole get the Mexican Style insulting in many ways as a Mexican American, is this suggesting American boxing is running? Is it suggesting Mexicans only know how to fight 1 way hence making them 1 dimensional? & lastly are these Russians trying to capitalize on a weak Mexican boxing era basically making it seem as if we have no one to root for except a Russian?

Kovalev often reminds me of the style of Marquez, often working for a counter although his defensive abilitys are often dismissed. People seem to forget the Russian/Eastern Europeans were looked as more of boxers, like the Klitchko brothers, all the way back to Johansson, Schmeling.

With that said, I can agree that a majority of Mexican boxers are what some may call brawlers but boxing is a huge sport in Mexico and among Mexican Americans so the sport is dilluted with Mexicans, if the sport were dilluted with blacks, whites, asians etc, thered be a large majority of brawlers in those cultures as well, and I say this because I think we all can agree when it comes to boxing, a brawler is referred to fighters with no skill, smarts, or athleticism.
