The ref wasnt looking nor did he tell them to fight. Floyd looked right at he ref and saw he wasnt looking. The left hook didnt even hurt Ortiz. Ortiz new that was some dirty shlt. That way he looked at the ref like WTF. Then Floyd hit him again. They made that legal. It was unsportsmanlike like wouldn't you agree?
He clearly says "Let's go" and motions his hands to resume the action.
At this point, the fight has resumed.
Every punch after that (the two finishing ones) were legal. The ref not looking is irrelevant, that's on him. That doesn't change that fact that the action had been resumed and the punches were legal.
Was it unsportsmanlike? Yes? Was it illegal? No.Comment

I always thought it was interesting that other boxers and trainers didn't seem to care too much about the way Floyd v. Ortiz ended. You know why? Because even if it was a cheap shot, Ortiz had it coming. What kind of a fighter head-butts another figher in the face and then tries to make out with him in the middle of the ring just a few seconds later. Ortiz's complete lack of composure in the heat of battle shows that he just did not belong at the championship level. No one who's worth a damn in the world of boxing gave a **** about how he lost.Comment

Was it unsportsmanlike? Yes? Was it illegal? No.It was an unsportsmanlike retaliation to Ortiz's unsportsmanlike headbutt.
People like to pretend like Mayweather just punched him out of the blue. He had tried a couple of times to launch that headbutt into Mayweather. He tried to fight dirty and got some in return.Comment

Didn't say break when he was between them? When was he between them? When are you talking about?
Ortiz headbutted him, the action was broken, Floyd was sent to a neutral corner, Ortiz was taken to a neutral corner, Ortiz was deducted a point, the action was resumed, Floyd punched him twice and stopped him. That's what happened.
He resumed the action, point blank. Once the action is resumed then the proceeding punches are legal.Comment

two wrongs dont make aright. IMO Ortiz needed to be punished for what he did. By the ref. Not Floyd. Hitting a guy like that could kill a muther***er. Luckly for Ortiz Floyd hits like a girl. Ortiz did get up thankfully and the fight was waved off. Lucky win for Floyd gotten by being a cheating unsportsmanlike coward.
Fact of the matter is that no one cried for Ortiz because he was a damn fool.Comment

Two wrongs don't make a right? True...but this is boxing, not nursery school. No one's paying Floyd to be a gentleman. No one's paying him to be a halfway decent human being. Call him any name you like.
