Regardless, the fighter said no and he is well within his rights to say no. He is under no obligation to agree to it.

Rigondeaux's team are the ones asking for silly stipulations. Just fight the man at his weight or stay at 122 and try to fight someone there.
There was a big thread about it the other day. They agreed on weight issues and had moved on to other things. They agreed on full 126limit with 135lb RH clause.

Fact is we dont even know how Rigo's team will respond to this. If Hyde listens to his fighter like he should then he'll say fine and continue negotiating anyway. I dont know why Rigo and his team is catching crap from you and others when they are trying to get the fight made. Equally Lomachenko and team shouldnt be getting **** either because they can do what they want. You are normally pretty understanding that negotiations are a back and forth process, why is this case any different?

Here's a thought, fighters fight at the traditional weight class for better or worse. Part of moving up or down is taking the risk, why move up in weight if you're not willing to take the full risk?

And also Rigo would happily stay at 122 im sure if the other guys there werent pretending he doesnt exist/ asking for more time/ hiding behind their promoters.

I really hope that Rigo can eventually sign with Haymon because so many of the 122lb fighters would have no where left to hide.

LSC and Frampton are already with Haymon and Quigg (who the WBA should have forced to fight Rigo ages ago) is with a Haymon friendly promoter. Much will change if this happens

BEcause he is a midget at his current weight class being asked to move up and fight a guy who doesnt bring huge amounts of money. He/ his team is entitled to try and get any advantages they can.

People dont seem to understand how bad a loss would be for Rigo at this time. He cant get a fight as it is, if he takes an L now that could be it for him.

I think he is good enough to fight 126lbers but its a huge risk.

I don't get it though......At 122 why are these guys dodging? At this point fighting Rigo is like fighting Mayweather (without the $$$). There is nothing wrong in loosing to him, he's the business, maybe you'll learn a thing or two loosing to a guy like Rigo I don't think anyone would hold it up against you if you lost to Rigo at 122.

Because the risk/reward for fighting Rigo is terrible. The reward is about average for the weightclass (maybe more if you factor in the benefits of beating him) but the risk is that you will most likely lose, and they all know it.

Its the effed up boxing system which pisses me off. I mean ive heard of a champ dodging his top contender before, but the top 3 contenders dodging the champ?

I don't believe that trying to negotiate rehydration clauses is reasonable, no matter who is doing it.

If you're "tiny" or "too small" for the weight, then don't fight there. It's disappointing to me from Rigondeaux's team that they would even go down that route. It sounds like a built-in excuse for if he loses.

... Common sense tells us that boxers should fight at their natural weights... There was a time when people stepped on the scale in the fight night -- but some of them were beginning to literally die because they were trying to "make weight"... Now we have the weigh in a day before the fight and most of these guys are coming to fight at 2-3 division north -- which is cheating, actually.
