On the other hand Walters weighed in at 145 for his last fight, so he would only have 9-10 lbs on loma. Loma and his team have publicly come out and said that they wouldn't fight Walters because he's too big,and they wouldn't entertain a catchweights or a rehydration clause. So Walters would be to big for loma with a 9 lb weight advantage, but rigo is a coward for not agreeing to fight loma when he'd be outweighed by 10-12 lbs?
Again, when did Loma ever say "I won't fight Walters 'cause he's too big"? Deadbrain comment

      Boxing 2015.
Rigondeaux is under no obligation to move up to 126. If he's going to do it then he needs either a promise of big money (which Loma doesnt bring) or he needs to try and claw back an advantage through catchweight or rehydration. Lomachenko is under no obligation to take the fight with those clauses either obviously.

I'd love for this fight to be made, but this is an extremely dangerous fight for both fighters. Especially for Rigo as hes in a position where a loss would basically guarantee that no top name would fight him again. It makes perfect sense that he would go for every advantage he can get.

These stipulations make it possible for smaller fighters to fight bigger ones on a more even playing field.

            On the 124 catchweight
Rigo: "I don't need 124. I want 126lbs so that no one talks ****. We are ready for anything. I have never reviewed any fight plans, none of that weight talk was by me that was management talk. We're ready for anything and anybody. I'll fight him at 126lbs."

            On the rehydration clause
Rigo: "We can fight anybody and I'm in the 122lbs division, and guess what? No one wants to fight me? Fine, I'll fight at 126lbs. That's the position I'm in. Gary is in a big hurry to and is negotiating with Loma and with others. He's is setting these terms, but this is what it is."

            On Loma as a fight
Rigo: "It's a good fight. We're both Olympic champions and we know each other, I've got no problem fighting him. He can weighin at 122 and then blow up to 140/150. It doesn't matter."

            On Carl Frampton's recent fight
Rigo: "Let's see if he wants to fight. The Gary Hyde situation might be getting in the way here. Let's see when I'm with new management/promoters"

            On LSC
Rigo: "He said he would fight us but ran to 126lbs. We'll fight with anybody. Where is everybody in my weight class? Watch when I go to 126lbs, he'll go to 130lbs (the announcer egged him on to say this though)"

On the 122lbs/126lbs division and rivals
Rigo: "I'll fight them all at the same time. Wherever they are. Where are they? I can stand in a corner in the middle of Miami screaming 'I'll fight anybody at 122 or 126 and they'll all run."

            On fighting larger fighters
Rigo: "In the ring, they'll realize their size won't help them"

            From Donbores (?), Rigo's other manager (???):

"Rigo needs 4 month prep for fights."

"September 15th is the end of Gary Hyde's contract. So he's in no position to create fights as he doesn't have enough time to set one up."

"Nothing official on Haymon taking Rigo on."

Rigo talks a lot of **** on the Gary Hyde situation. Looks like all this negotiation stuff between Gary Hyde and Loma's people will go nowhere. Rigo seems dead set on not working with Gary"
Wow didnt see this before i made my first post. So basically Rigo DGAF about any of the demands that Gary Hyde is trying to make.

I hope that Hyde realises that Rigo doesnt care about catchweights or rehydration and still tries to make the fight!

Rigo is a ****ing G. No doubt about it.

Many great fighters have been able to move up in weight without them.

I consider Rigondeaux one of the best I've ever seen so it's disappointing he'd make these silly demands.
So how do you feel about most of boxing's history when guys were doing same day weight ins and weren't able to baloon up 15-25 lbs?Rigo would be giving up a whole lot as far as size is concerned I don't think it would be too much to ask if Rigo asked Loma to come in at what he normally weighs on fight night. Rigo probably won't even be 124 on the night of the fight. He's esentially gonna be fighting a two time gold medalist two divisions above him.

Says a fan of a fighter who invented his own weight class to not have to face fighters his own size.

Exactly you just proved how great Pacquiao is. Too bad you hypocrites didn't leave comments like this everytime Pac moved up through 9 divisions.

"Rigo won't be 124 night of the fight" LOL

                  • As I said before: Rigo would fight Loma at 126; the rehydration clause is reasonable -- both are tip-top, so if Rigo compromises by going up then Loma must also make a compromise.

                    • Damn. Just when things were looking good.

If Rigo was moving up to 126 to get the fight made, then i thought the idea of a rehydration cap was fair enough.
