No he wasn't. All the judges and Showtime's Steve Farhood had Wilder winning by at least two rounds.

Which surprised me tbh. I thought the fight was fairly close until the stoppage. I had Szpilka ahead at that point in the fight until I rewatched the fight, but even then I thought it was pretty even. I think at minimum Szpilka won 3 rounds, with as many as two other rounds being debatably his as well.

Szpilka is actually the fighter who you could claim only has one weapon, in his case the straight left, though I hope he shows us an improved arsenal in the fight.
After watching this fight i still stand by my original statement. ALL WILDER HAS IS A RIGHT HAND. Key for beating wilder is to tie up his right but i think any real top 10 contender would know this.

I know the kid did a decent job but he was not beating Wilder in those rounds. He kept it a game fight but just as everyone knew he was not a real threat to Wilder. Not enough power, speed or smarts...He did showcase Deontay's great punching ability. If you look at some of the slo mo, Wilder has excellent form jab to straight right...forget the bombs. But this guy was never going to be able to threaten Wilder and that was the idea from the beginning right?
