James Toney: "There will never be a White Heavyweight Champion"

1. James Toney is a ****, we all knew that way before this press conference took place, so we shouldn't be surprised when he acts like one.

2. To the handful of white guys who are starting to gloat just because a bunch of Europeans have risen to the top of the weakest heavyweight division in decades: stop acting like fourth graders. I thought that as hardcore boxing fans we were supposed to be operating on a level where we didn't care about a fighter's race, but instead evaluated him based on his SKILL AS A FIGHTER. Also, consider this: if you lower yourself to the level of racializing everything then you can't credibly call out the black guys (ex. James Toney) when they get a little race-crazy.

James Toney is not raciest, I can't believe some of you actually believe he's a raciest. For saying there will never be a white HW champion or the Ruiz joke, this doesn't prove he's a raciest.

If Toney comes around 215-220, I don't see anyone beating him today for the next 2 years, Toney is getting old, time may catch up with him soon.

I hope Wlad beats Bird, then we can make this fight. I guess some of you guys will be surprised what will Toney do to Wlad.

Toney isn't a racist. He's an attention seeker. He knows his mouth is the only way he can stay in the headlines and in contention, because he damn sure isn't doing it in the ring (without steroids).

But yeah, the double standard is de****able. If a white person said the same thing it would be WW3 against him in the press and he would've been boo'd out of the place. Sad. Toney isn't going anywhere and he's really had a fairly mediocre career in reality- take away his wins against Nunn and Jirov, and what has he really done? His mouth is 75% of the reason he's still around. And it works. Look at all of us talking about him when he's really not a factor in boxing at all anymore. He's completely obsolete. That's a fact.

Is there any proof that Toney even made these comments. I see no mention of this on the Max boards and plenty of people watched the presser on our site and never mentioned this either. A person who is a member since 04, posts for the first time and the post is a racist accusation towards Toney, sound fishy to me.
