  • Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Will Consider 175 if He Blows Weight Again

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is focused on capturing a world title in the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds. He returned on Saturday night in El Paso, Texas - where he won a ten round unanimous decision over Marcos Reyes at the Don Haskins Center.

Chavez was returned from an April TKO defeat at the hands of light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara.

For Chavez (49-2-1, 32 KOs), the fight with Reyes was his third fight in the last four, where he weighed in as a light heavyweight.

By the time he's done considering it he probably won't be able to make 175 anymore. His destiny is losing to Roy Jones at cruiserweight in 2017. and yes he would lose.

Pick a ***ing weight class already damn it. Yesterday I thought he said he would stay at 168 The fact that he won't commit to a weight class is a problem. He doesn't want to dedicate himself to making a weight

He has a perfect weight class, 171!

He is too big to make 168, he came in 170.8 this time. At 172 he fought his heart out but had no choice other than to quit because the other guy was much bigger and stronger. At 171 he will fit just fine and he even has another 0.2 pounds to grow into the 171 division.

"IF" he blows weight again. As if it's a rare occurrence.

He's going to half ass it no matter what the weight is. If it's 175, he's going to be 176. It's a "lazy" problem, not a weight problem.
