The reason he does is this because he wants to cultivate the image that he pays the best so he's more attractive to fighters from other promotional teams.
It's totally distorting the market and means no fighters want to make the big fights anymore when the mark-up for taking them is only a little more than taking an easy fight.
He also needs to be more ****ing sensible with the investors money cos this thing is going to crash and burn quicker than he realises if he doesn't start getting sensible.Comment

I'm avoiding talking to you about it because debates with lifeforms as low are yourself are pointless.
You've never taking any business law classes, you probably haven't passed high school, yet somehow you think the biggest law firms in the nation and the federal government have no clue what there doing when they accepted this case.Comment

The Ali act takes 2 seconds to read, yes I've read it.

Its funny seeing guys tell the board that posters only hate Haymon because he's black when Haymon being black is the only reason they defend him.Comment

PBC is definitely a risky proposition. No doubt about that. It 100% could & might fail although I wouldn't say its a forgone conclusion.
You don't believe there is enough money in boxing for one critical mass of elite fighters being backed by one league-like entity to be able to pay those elite fighters $1M-$6M per card (which I believe has been the range for most of the full PBC cards thus far)?
From my understanding the UFC is getting $90M for 4 shows a year ($22.5M per card). The NHL gets about $200M for showing about 100 games (ie $2M a game). If those sports, which seem to be in the ratings range of boxing typically, are getting that much I'd assume the PBC can parlay a similar deal at some point once there is a more league-like format in boxing. Creating that critical mass of elite fighters is the biggest hurdle for PBC & perhaps impossible to accomplish, but you don't get anywhere not trying to make **** happen.
He is burning through money without gathering any momentum or heat in the process. There have been no significant progress or traction for the boxing landscape since the PBC thing started, it's just sort of happening around us.
The PBC fights themselves haven't been that bad - they've been up and down, like most other promotional outfits. But they aren't good enough to warrant this great push. There hasn't been a single great event or star to emerge.
All I'm going to say is this. Look at the state Haymon left HBO, Golden Boy and now Showtime once he had used them. They are still trying to recover.Comment

It's not going to work, it is so painfully obvious. He has a huge pool of clients but there is no breakout star in there. He's pushing guys like Quillin and Santa Cruz (more out of loyalty than anything else because they have NO goodwill in the sport).

What PBC is doing now isn't so much the end goal imo. I think they are 4 months in & ****ing up a lot with random things, but this plan seems like a 4 year+ plan so there is plenty of time to better & perfect things & gather even more & better fighters.Comment
