Comments Thread For: J. Mayweather: If Golovkin Wants Floyd - Come To 147!

Trainer Jeff Mayweather, the uncle of WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., says his nephew has no business facing WBA/IBO middleweight king Gennady "GGG" Golovkin - unless the fight takes place at the welterweight limit of 147-pounds.

Golovkin and his team members have mentioned the idea of dropping down to 154-pounds to face Mayweather, who does hold the WBC/WBA titles at junior middleweight. Mayweather has not fought in a junior middleweight contest in over two years, and that fight against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez took place at a catch-weight of 152-pounds.

Floyd just got owned by his own Uncle. GGG can't get down to 147 but if he could he would school Floyd.

Neither guy belongs at 154, so why even bother arguing.

Always wants to have some advantage over fighters. Fake champion! Why would not fight at 154?
