Sorry, but an emphatic NO to the highlighted portion of your post. While Serena is the best women's tennis player the game has ever seen, she has never won a complete Grand Slam and rarely wins more than one or two of the four majors per year. In fact last year she only won one major, the US Open. This year she is on a tear and has won all three GS events and if she wins the US Open, she will win her first Grand Slam, I believe the first in history by a woman.Let's take the race issue out of it, and just look at the resumes.
In the calendar year in between the 2014-2015 ESPY's, Rousey won one fight. In the oh so deeply talented and historic women's 130 pound division of the UFC.
In the same exact time span , Williams wins all four women's Major championships against the best her sport has to offer every time out, with a history of 90+ years.
But yep. Let's make it a race issue.
As to why she was not nominated, her performance in 2014 was not very good at all. Only one GS win and she did not reach the finals in any of the other three. And yes, I know that you will come back and claim that her wins over the span between the awards show includes four GS wins but I do not consider that to be valid as the nominees were set before she even won the last two titles and should be based on her performance in the 2014 season alone.
You should be comforted by the fact that if she manages to win the US Open and complete the Grand Slam this year, she will most definitely win next year. And deservedly so.
But making unfounded claims tends to dilute not only this discussion but gives you a reputation for making false claims that follows you to other threads and topics.Comment

Maybe you misunderstood, or I wasn't clear enough
In the year span in between 2014 and 2015 in which the ESPY's were held, those dates being July 16th 2014, and July 15th 2015, Serena won all four Majors, starting with her winning the US Open in Sept 2014, and ending with her Wimbledon victory on July 11th, 2015.
Ronda Rousey didn't deserve either award she won.

Floyd is the highest paid athlete in the world. In Boxing history. That DOES NOT make him the BEST BOXER in the world. BEST MARKETED yes. BEST BOXER no.
Ive seen women beat a mans ass before. Ive seen woman spar with men to get into shape for MMA bouts. Youd be surprise. Can Rousey Beat him. Dunno. Do i care? No. If they fight...id watch it. Id pull for the chick.Comment
