Actually there were atleast two good fighters around then: Lewis and Byrd. And he failed to beat either of them.

I still think his resume is hof worthy. it doesnt mean hes a top 10 atg heavyweight. I think he has enough descent wins coupled with the fact hes never been down or stopped to be in there. winning the title after 3 yrs off at 37 yrs old was impressive imo and he did defend it a handful of times altho the opposition wasnt great. I can see where some people may disagree but I think he did just enough to get in. he was a handful for any heavyweight in any era

When a 10yrs past prime failed contender of the Lewis era and a fat tub of lard clubber are presented as your greatest career wins then your case can't be discussed very positively.

Never read so many clueless posts on a thread, the bottom line is the 6'7 Vitali at his best was practically the hardest boxer to even win a round against let alone a fight ,i would say M.Tyson under Rooney was the only guy to compare in difficulty to fight, .

Joe Louis was in the weakest era but is regarded as a the most dominant champ in HW history , winning a championship to a guy with 25 losses and 2 year lay off,and you want to bring up weak eras?

Great post. All out of greens, their on the way though.

Joe Louis is supposedly the great who is to be considered better than both VK and Wlad too, all the while he and his opposition would be considered cruisers for portions of their career, but you can only fight who is in front of you, doe.

You really do dislike the Klitschko brothers don't you. I thought you were this huge Fury fan and not just a Klitschko detractor. Lol, Vitali thoroughly dominated every fight he ever won, was winning at times of both times of his two losses through retirement in a technical decisions, their had never been conclusively a blue print to defeat him.

            Keep objecting and hating, clown.

Exactly...Louis gets out boxed by a former 140 pound Conn yet everyone trashes both klitchkos resumes. I could go on and on and absolutely destroy Louis in comparison..pure comedy,.....

The brothers are salty. Why can't people give equal credit in boxing?

I liked watching Vitali fight he was a good fighter, far better than his brother. He just didn't beat anybody good enough to warrant consideration to the hof.

Vitali thoroughly dominated every fight he ever won
He should have considering the level of opponents he fought. There is nothing special about beating guys you're expected to put away.

Oh deary me, this is just sad.

credit should be earned. would anyone else with that trash resume get in? maybe but i wouldn't be in favor of it. rahman's resume is so much better yet is he getting in the hall? doubt it. he beat a better lewis than the lewis that beat vitali. he beat a better sanders than the sanders that vitali beat. he was robbed against tua in a draw(tua would be vitali's best win) and he was robbed against toney in another draw(toney would be one of vitali's 2-3 best wins)
