Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Price's Shot To Produce Something Special

Tonight, BoxNation exclusively screens David Price’s attempt to become European heavyweight champion against German Erkan Tepor in Baden-Württemberg.

I have to say, I think this is the big Liverpudlian’s last chance to get back into the big time, and Tepor is no slouch, especially on home turf.

At 28 he is three years younger than Price, and also carries a big dig. His two previous British opponents, Martin Rogan and Michael Sprott, were each summarily despatched in a round.

Price has a great jab as well as his formidable punching power, but that chin is so vulnerable. [Click Here To Read More]

Pull the other one, Frank. Teper looks like a pie-eating contestant. And he's 33, not 28!

Price has a decent jab, but will he use it? Against TT the second time around he ignored his corner (and Lennox), who were advising him to jab more and ease up on the straight right.

I haven't seen much improvement since then - his confidence still looks shaken. Hopefully he will produce something decent tonight, but he needs to box smart.

he needs to stick a shoulder up to block tepers overhand slap. He needs to fight like his life depends on it and move around, he needs to lean down on teper and make room to get some body shots of inside not hook to the head too much cause teper ducks forward, he needs to jab and go to the body.

I'll be the first to credit Price if he wins, if he wins convincingly even better. Do I believe he will win ? No I do not. this is an intriguing fight though, lets not forget Price decked Thompson and looked good until he had his breakdown in the ring, I just think his nightmares will return as soon as Teper returns fire.

If Price is to win whom does he face next with Fury and Joshua tied up, would Joshua seek to avoid his power. I'm finding it odd how the Wach fight was apparently done, but now is off ! I figured it was too good to be true, maybe they under rated The Viking's power ?

I like what Price said about he is sick of playing about. The guy is 6ft9, built like a brick ****house, maybe has the most one punch power in boxing ffs yet he has no confidence its so clear, his footwork is a mess and he sits bouncing on the balls of his feet, like what are you doing you're a 6ft9, 250lb monster.

He is a big lump, he is not an athletic big man, his legs and feet are very slow to react and he is no spring chicken.

What I would like to see is him plant them big size 15 feet and say **** being this big friendly giant and go for it. Decapitate these pretenders. Be first! You're not a big softy, you're a giant a damn killer!

A huge part of his downfall is his mentality IMO, he is a big p*ssycat really.

I swear if this guy had some killer instinct, he'd wipe out virtually everyone in that division in a round. First right hand he landed, over with. They can't avoid it, they aren't mobile or savvy enough to.

Its nice he is a friendly giant outside of the ring but in there he needs to be an animal. That is what will sell and put him back. No more Mr nice guy!
Go in, take these fat puddings out and get people talking, believing.

if he gets hussled by this guy then thats pathetic, he needs a decent trainer not franny smith, more like someone who makes him move about and not hunch over, he doesnt need that much headmovement cause he's tall he probably just needs to be able to slip a straight punch but not duck hooks.
