The sport of boxing in basic terms is hit and not get hit. These fools want to take away the not get hit part.

I also refuse to support blatant miss matches by watching them.
Can't argue with that!

And when people stop complaining about boxing that's when it will truly die, because no one will care about it. How many have already abandoned it for mma? I think everyone here loves boxing but if you don't hate boxing just a little then you are oblivious to the many problems in the sport or you choose to pretend they don't exist.

Defense is a part of boxing. So long as the main objective is to punch the other guy more and harder than he punches you, defence will always be a big part of boxing.
Mayweather doesn't win because he only defends the whole fight, he wins because he lands more and better quality shots on his opponent in the majority of the rounds.
Find it entertaining or not, i dont care. That is what boxing is.

This is exactly the problem! We're all guilty of it, I know I can admit that I am.
I've turned a blind eye, I've even made excuses and accepted awful match ups and Cards and I still watched, still gave them my viewership rating simply because I am a boxing fan. Also defended awful performances from fighters I like. We all do this!
As for styles in the ring, yeah it is no excuses for the young up and coming fighters as well as fighters who are not yet Stars or a Draw in this sport. You have to impress casuals every time they get to see you, not play it safe and protect a undefeated record. Casuals don't give a *** about a Undefeated Record they care more about who is fun to watch win or lose and who is entertaining. ADVERSITY can make you into a star, you coming back after being dropped in a fight and knocking your opponent out, that is what gets fans out of their seats! Instead you have so called hardcore fans mocking guys and saying guys are not good because they get hurt, dropped or wobbled a little bit
Anyway, Great Stuff! I Agree 1000% With This!

In a summarized version, the OP is stating what I think hardcore boxing fans (myself included watching since 03), we know good matchups and aren't fooled easily into watching "boring matchups". Now "boring" is a term in boxing that can be said similar to one man's trash is another man's treasure. A fight I may deem boring (many of Klitscko's last few title defenses), can be highly entertaining to another.
Doesn't mean I'm going to hate on someone for watching what I would personally deem a boring fight, but to each his own.
The bottom line is moreso, to get better quality matchups of name opponents facing each other rather than what they call in WWE (or used to when I used to watch 15 years ago), "jobbers".
