Then they should both be out there doing their best to WIN the fight by knocking the other guy out. Neither should be in defensive mode and if he is, he should be penalized in the scoring for not being aggressive enough. You cannot win a hockey game or a football game or any other game in any other sport unless you score some points. Keeping the opposing team pointless is not enough to win, only to get a tie. No one who fights all defense and no offense deserves to win a fight in my book.

If you don't want to get punched in the face, become a golfer or a bowler. If FOX was still broadcasting hockey, I would not be surprised to see a NHL add featuring boxing the same way they featured golf and bowling in the past.

    • I enjoy fights the same as I do beer, if it's got a great taste I will drink it. But I refuse to drink something that resembles piss just cause its beer. Same when a fight is **** and its boring I refuse to waste my time sitting there torturing myself through it just cause its a "fight".

I also refuse to support blatant miss matches by watching them.

      • Casuals want KO's, they dont care about matchups.

Just look how big GGG is becoming while fighting no one.

        KO's sell not matchups

          • If youre a casual fan and only like brawls, then watch brawls and dont complain about the sport of boxing and continue being a casual fan.

Just like if you find tennis boring, dont watch it. Simple. No need to b1tch about it

            • You realize the sport is called boxing? Most fights are going to consist of said boxing

You can be a hard core fan and prefer to watch action packed fights over slow paced, clinch and grab, duck and run fests. It doesn't make you any less a fan or any less knowledgeable an individual. Not everyone is a pacifist or a fan of chess matches. Some baseball fans love to watch a slow paced game that ends 1-0 after 18 innings while other prefer a home run festival game that ends after 9 with a score of 15-12. Some hockey fans like a fight filled, penalty filled game while other prefer a tight, fast paced close scoring game. Others love to watch a one sided blowout.

People like what they like but action tends to sell more than strategy. Like it or not, it's an undeniable fact. No matter what the sport is. Few people watch the Indy 500 to see a clean race, they want to see the crashes.

GGG may be making a name for himself among the boxing world but he is nowhere near being a household name in America(where it counts most). If he were Hispanic or Filipino, he would be gigantic. Hes not as big(popular) as people make him out to be.

It's a combat sport, and the pretentiousness is unwarranted at the end of the day boxing is about two fighters trying to punch each other in the face.

And when people stop complaining about boxing that's when it will truly die, because no one will care about it. How many have already abandoned it for mma? I think everyone here loves boxing but if you don't hate boxing just a little then you are oblivious to the many problems in the sport or you choose to pretend they don't exist.
