I don't think it was. Hopkins-Dawson was, but it only did 40,000 buys.

Because no title-holders will fight him.........what do you expect? He's the MANDATORY for Cotto....he's stepping aside to get the winner of Cotto-Canelo. But David Lemieux wold be a good showcase, Andy Lee won't be fighting him, Daniel Jacobs won't be fighting him, Quillen won't go near him, Korobov got KO'd by Lee.......what would you have him do?

Hopkins fight should not happen imo, It is a no win as others have mentioned.

The one thing that seems to be Golovkin's biggest problem is his contract with HBO, where he can fight only there. I'm betting K2 changes that after this present contract expires. He is a big enough draw to not handcuff himself to one network, That way he could negotiate with them all.

and before the Gullible Gennady Groupies come in here swinging their purses at me, I think refusing a BHop fight is a good thing for Team GGG....it's a lose lose situation for GGG...so I wouldn't call this a duck....not close!!...but Team GGG is quacking out on Ward though...and that's OBVIOUS to see unless you're one of the gullible ones!!
Come on man, Golovkin could not have been ANY fairer in his proposal to Ward: 50-50 across the board on the cash and they meet in the middle on the weight, what more do you friggin want. Ward will get his ass smoked and he KNOWS it. I hate to bring this up again but, Ward has asked two of his last three opponents to weaken and come down to him, what he can't split the difference once going the other way? If he is such a bad ass, get on with it, Gennady is waiting for him at 50/ 50!

Best case scenario, you go in there and blow a 50 year old man out the water which has already been done recently and get little credit for beating a former great who ppl will say stuck around longer than he should have.

Worst case scenario, you get your @ss whooped by that 50 year old man..
If he knocked him out it would be saying something. But I agree lose lose situation nothing gained from beating 50 year old Hopkins coming off a complete domination.

Yeah pretty much. Doesn't make sense to take this fight.
