Enjoying the game of "chicken" is one thing but thanks to Haymon's feud with HBO, none of us get to see Kovalev v Stevenson.

well lets be honest here his stock rised big time when people thought stevenson was scared of him everyone hates stevenson but when duva and kovolav ducked the purse bid blaming tv deals after calling out stevenson for 2 years the air was let out of the balloon no doubt people will care less now that they know it was all bs

There were 9,016 there which is decent by American standards especially for a lousy fight. Kovalev fight would do well over that

She's just showing she is (correctly) believing in her fighters and her cards. Nothing wrong with that. The issue is only the time frame to have this card, and the location.

Didn't Haymon put his card down the street, same city, same day, AFTER Duva had already put her card in place? HE is the az-zhoel for doing that. Knowing full well what he was doing. Duva has alot of great fights. You need to go back and check some of them out on Youtube. Her only mistake was the timeframe/venue. And BTW, ANY promoter would not be happy if their competition were giving the competing card tix away. This is a blatant deek move by Haymon.

You don't get it. Less fights = we boxing fans lose. Again, the gal picked a bad weekend and venue, I don't know what her people were thinking but obviously they made a mistake, but he came in there specifically to try to gouge her company. And he has deeper pockets. But if he keeps this style up, kills off promoters, keeps showing those crappy WAY too glossy network TV fights that look like they're on a set for American Idol... it isn't something that will help the sport.

HBO was a big part of this 'ducking' the purse bid. They don't like Haymon much at all.

It isn't a great match-up first of all. However, Nadjib is his mandatory and has been for the past year. He is required to fight him or he will get stripped of the title. Can't blame Kovalev for having to fight his mandatory. Further, he has the best resume in the LH division anyway.... took on the top (Pascal and Bhop) while Stevenson has fought a super middle weight in his last bout and before that an unkown opponent. Yes, Stevenson is getting bigger paydays with Al Haymon but he was getting more recognition on HBO because comp level was better (i.e Dawson and Cloud).
