If the rumors and Khan tweeting that Mayweather chose Berto are true then I think there is a strong possibility this fight is on CBS instead of PPV. We'll see but Berto has done nothing to deserve a fight with Mayweather and there is a long list of better fighters who have done more recently then Berto who has beaten a couple of weak fighters since his back to back loses to Guerrero and Sota Karass. But Mayweather is probably thinking well it's not PPV so I'll get a pass for taking a easy fight on CBS. Can't see how he can throw away 30 mil in guaranteed money from PPV. Unless Haymon can find a way to trick CBS in paying that salary even though they will never come close to making the money back without PPV

Wrong. British Fans are the most diehard fans in the sport. What happened to Froch's career after being thoroughly schooled by Ward? Khan's been knocked out multiple times and is now more relevant ever. You could be right when it comes to Americans though.

BTW there is about a 5% chance this 38 year old gun shy version of Floyd schools Brook. FMJ of 2010 could do it, but not this guy. If he wins a wide decision, it will be by making generous use of a 23ft+ ring, back against the ropes with Kell in hot pursuit. The impression that will be left after the fight is that Floyd was scared to death to engage with Brook. Win, lose, or draw leaving the fight with reputation of having put the fear of God into the P4P king is good for the the up-n-comer.

Floyd's reflexes and timing aren't what they used to be but I still believe he has the skill set to school Brook next week, but the problem is, he no longer has the mind set. Look at Sr's reaction in the Pac fight, its as if the the Floyd he trained in camp deserted him come fight night. Brook ain't no ATG, he might no even be elite but he won't need to be to push Floyd out of his comfort zone, his ok defense, size, great jab, high ring IQ, management of distance, emotional composure killer instinct and good power are more than enough to be competitive with this Floyd.

Who says he needs more glory? Heck why does anyone need any particular amount glory? Seems weird imho not to want and chase after as much glory as is feasible. Or that's at least what I'd think the mindset of an ATG boxer would be.

If you don't want to fight anymore, or don't want to fight for more glory, and have made more money than you could spend, what is the point of fighting again?

If Mayweather goes with Berto the real loser in all this is Khan. He basically signed with Haymon 2 years ago under the impression that he would deliver him Mayweather if he did. If you remember after a few easy fights after his KO to Garcia Golden Boy who was his promoter had a deal on the table for him to fight Alexander. Then something happened somebody got in his ear and he pulled out the fight. Speculation was he pulled out to avoid risking a loss because he was guaranteed to get Mayweather next. Then a few months later he officially signs with Haymon and he was rumored to be at the top of the list to get the fight. Then Maidana upset Broner and Mayweater passed on Khan to fight Maidana. Then fight was close so Maidana got a rematch. And since then Khan has been fighting bums and easy fights to setup a Mayweather fight that Haymon promised Khan but clearly Mayweather cares nothing about that arrangement. If I'm Khan i'm pissed because he has wasted years in his prime. What was the point of signing with Haymon when he's turned down multiple big fights that Golden Boy tried to make for him and big fights that could of been made with guys like Brook, Thurman, Broner ect since he split from Golden Boy. Those would of paid him more money and done more for his career based on the false hope Haymon gave him that he would get Mayweather "next".

Haymon has really screwed Khan's boxing career up since he started calling the shots. Now it's very possible Mayweather retires without ever fighting him. Haymon sold him magical beans about a Mayweather fight that he couldn't deliver.

Maybe to make more money? You pretending fighters from different eras primarily fought for something other than money is self serving and foolish. Only clowns from this era set crazy standards like "chasing glory" because they think its a way to criticize Floyd.

Soon as you apply the same standard to a fighter those clowns like, they suddenly see how ******ed the original argument is.

I still hope its not Berto because I prefer competitive fights over what I think will be an easy KO.

Going on that logic if its pac 2 he probably wouldn't even need to train let alone spar. Easiest and most embarrasing night of boxing. The biggest fight ever and it was a shut out.

If there were no contracts in place he should have just kept his career moving, because a promise is a comfort to a fool.

He played himself. He could have schooled Devon, kept the IBF strap away from Brook, then walked into the Mayweather fight looking like a million bucks.
