Maidana lost ud to Andrey Kotelnik, a basic straight up jabber from the ukrane.
He lost UD to Amir Khan, after being floored and almost taken out in 1
He got shown up by a 147 year old lightweight Morales fighting with one eye who taught him a thing or two about boxing
He got schooled by a basic Devon Alexander
He then did ok against a lazy floyd but got schooled in the second, yeah he went 12, but so does everyone.
This guy is no killer
First, of all pro boxers out there, of all weight classes, Chino is the last guy you want ot *** with. hell, I'd be careful about saying he's not a killer, and I dont mean it methaphorically, not that such a thing makes him a better person. Rather the opposite.
As a boxer, he's more skilled than most ever gave him credit for. Dropped people he wasnt supposed to and took something out of every single boxer he went into the ring with. And he's never been in a boring fight, other than when Floyd goes extra "safe".
I couldnt care less about your opinion on Matthysse, this is a Maidana thread. And how on earth have you come to he assumption I've called maidana a bad boxer When I picked him over Thurman and Porter. You're more sensitve than my ex gfs lmao. His defence is not his strongest attribute and if you disagree, your boxing knowledge needs sharpening.
P.S Bradley, Mosley and Joel Diaz have said Matthysse' s defence is very good.
Maidana-Matthysse would be a hell of a fight though...
you keep going off on a tangent here. when did i assume that? you doubted maidana having a good defense and i simply disagreed. and then we disagreed on whether he was hurt or not in the lopez fight. that was the conversation. well yea, i didn't say it was.
Floyd May disagrees. His synopsis of Maidana in an interview is he dishes out more than he gets because he has an underrated defense. My own perception has seen Maidana make certain adjustments and show underrated boxing chops, as well as underrated defense. In the Broner and Mayweather fights he even had varying degrees of success boxing them in the MIDDLE of the ring.
yea that was pretty much an admission by floyd. the punch stats didn't reflect the first fight at all. he was clearly missing a lot of his punches on chino.

Defence is part of a boxer's skill set. I think Maidana's underrated as a boxer but I also feel his defence is below par. That's MY opinion and it's not gonna change unless he shows me otherwise. As a boxer who's had plenty of bouts, I can make my own informed/educated opinion and you can have yours. /topic
You will always have a bias as Maidana is your fighter so the reliability and impartialness of this discussion is lacking. No point having this discussion with you as you don't have the stats to back what you're saying up. What you've given me is purely opinion.
