SRL and Duran ended with a way passed it Camacho Sr.
    Hearns ended with Shannon Landsberger
Chavez SR. ended with Grover Wiley
Sweet Pea ended with Carlos Bojorquez
    Camacho ended with Saul Duran

I think Andre Berto is better than any of these, not that it makes Berto a choice I would like.

Yeah except when it's a fighter who's proven himself time and time and time again and leaves as the greatest fighter of his generation. Then, I could care less what his farewell fight is.

Those fighters you mention were pretty much shot come their last fights. Floyd still has enough in the tank to compete at the highest of levels.

So? Floyd not drinking, drugging and keeping himself in shape is the reason he still has enough in the tank. He just defeated the 2nd or 3rd best fighter in the sport rather easily. This fight seems to be designed to make Floyd look "exciting" by getting a Canelo/Kirkland or GGG/Monroe type KO/TKO and set up his next fight.

I understand your point, but since "excitement" is what is being marketed to fans and has become what fans seem to want, Floyd/CBS are trying to give them that.

          What would you prefer?

What if the 'motivation' tank is empty?

Floyd had a 6 fight contract he has to complete. He said he wants to honor that contract. But I think his last fight is ONLY about honoring that contract.

Aside from boxing I'm a big fan of Tennis. I respect the structure of the sport and how its based on elimination until the 2 best players in the worlds are on the court facing one another. Fans of Novak Djokovic would never accept him playing anyone other than the best in his final match. Same goes for any other tennis champ.

This is part of what's hurting boxing. The fact that certain fighters can pick and choose opponents based on their agenda.
Because Floyd is just one fighter. He's not boxing. The sport moves on, buddy. When one King leaves another one emerges. That's how it is and that's how it has always been.

Floyd has been taking risks time and time again in his 20 year reign. He's beaten all the fighters he was scared to death of, he's made all the money, he's set all the records. There's nothing left for him than one more obligated fight on his contract. That is it. If he wasn't contracted to one more fight he wouldn't be having a 49th fight.

I don't care who he fights. He's done, it's over. Floyd Mayweather is leaving us for good. I would rather him have an easy farewell fight than an unnecessary risk when the reward isn't worth it at this point.

Tennis and Boxing are just not comparable in any way so I won't address that comparison.

It's exactly like the Chavez situation. One last time to see him fight.

Or more recently Vitali Klitschko vs Manuel Charr.

                "Farewell" fights happen in Boxing.

From the pool of available fighters, I wouldnt mind seeing him go out fighting Khan or Brook. There's some intrigue with those matchups and one can see how Floyd can be challenged. Berto is pretty much a "gimme" fight to look good ending his career against.

There's more excitement from a Floyd/Khan fight than Floyd/Berto. Berto will shut down mentally once he starts getting picked apart. Khan will at least go out on his shield swinging and can see how he can give Floyd fits.

There is no doubt about that.

He does not want to fight, at all.

Why do you think he went from fighting once a year to suddenly two fights in the space of 4 months? He just wants to **** out the contract as fast as possible.
