    But that article is terrible.
I agree, I only posted It due to It relating to the fight. I never could stand Borges. He made a habit of writing nothing but trashy articles on Tyson every chance that he got, not that Tyson didn't deserve a few of those.

I have to say that It Is refreshing to actually have a level headed Floyd fan on this board.

It showed once again Saturday night. I also know that he uses illegal tactics when defending. Forearms, elbows, stiff arm, etc. He does whatever is necessary to not get hit. Did Bayless ever warn him? Of course not! But he's a better defensive fighter than Whitaker. Smh./SIZE]
yeah I was shaking my head when Kenny warned Berto for the forearm

        • berto put up a better fight than pac man, not saying hes a better fighter than him... but why in 2015 are people still complaining that floyd has no killer instinct or never goes for KOs? havent you guys notices his change in style since moving to 147???? at what point will u accept it for what it is and move on? if u want to see killer instinct there are plenty of other fighters out there who will give u that

          • During the fight In attendance I was very unimpressed. Even shaking my head every now and again at the complete lack of offense on Floyd's part. I thought maybe as I'm watching it in the arena it looks different than it does on TV so I rewatched it on TV today.

My thoughts haven't changed, Mayweather is clearly done as a fighter. He had a guy infront of him that 5 years ago he could have put an absolute beating on. Where was the jab for the body followed by the right upstairs? Where was the sweeping right hand? Counter uppercut against the ropes? Lead right hand and duck under? None of that was present. Even the left hook was seldomly used. And then the few rare instances he did let his hands go, he was very sloppy and Inaccurate. The pull counter wasn't working either.

Berto trapped him in the ropes several times. He couldn't even slip away, no check left hooks off the ropes (like he used against Pacquaio)

He threw 400 punches, most of which were jabs.

To me it's very clear the offensive side of his game is competely done. Finished. Shot. He's still sharp defensively but that's it. His offense consists of jabs and an occasional right.

In all honesty it was depressing for me ringside, seeing a shell of Mayweather. I was expecting a vintage Floyd against a Berto level opponent, an offensive masterclass for his last fight but instead I got the opposite.

It's a good job it was Berto in there Saturday. I don't see that version of Maweather lasting much longer.

It couldn't be a more perfect indicator to retire. I really hope he stays retired.

Good analysis and spot on. His defense Is still second to none. On the flip side and as you Indicated, he has no offense. I am sure he Is aware of that fact and for that very reason fights with the style he currently uses. If he does stick around there will be another fighter that will use the blueprint that Maidana has put In place and end the night. That Is the only style that can beat Floyd.

You're not wrong. He's slipped a hell of a lot, and I believe he realises that.

Good points. In my opinion, I think his hand problems are worsening. And that has resulted in less punch output. That left hand you mentioned he wasn't using much, was also the left hand he said was hurt around Round 6 or Round 7. Bad hands is definitely my guess for the offense.

                    • Haven't watched it on TV yet; but I noticed from being there he kept missing the left hook I mean everytime. The stab jab and regular won him the fight but it's time to retire.
