Froch was motivated by being the underdog, by being in Joe Calzaghe's shadow, by guys on internet forums claiming that he was an unskilled joke, by guys like Khan being handed everything to him on a silver platter while he had to do things the hard way, by having no television contract early in his career despite being one of the most exciting British fighters in the game.

He's now achieved all his goals, he's a rich man with a beautiful wife, and a lucrative television contract waiting for him. It's hard to get out bed in the morning when you're wearing silk pyjamas.

So the duck, after flexing his muscles & quacking crap, decides to spread his wings to try something new, goes flying to the SKY to join in SKYSPORTS.

Carl Froch is a ****ing legend, and he deserves the complete respect of every boxing fan in the world, whether you like him or not. He was everything boxing fans claim to want out of a fighter.

Best of luck to him in everything he does going forward. I'm really going to miss seeing him step in the ring.

I'm a GGG fan, too, but there's no need to get all butt-hurt over a fighter in a different weight class, who spoke of retirement long before GGG's ascendency, hanging up his gloves.
