Yeah, if you wanna see some real fights with hungry fighters, go watch mma.

If you wanna watch holding, not engaging, a couple times a year, sure stay watching boxing.

I've seen some great mma wars as well as great boxing matches in recent years, you just have to know where to look.

Sure some boxing matches are lackluster but by the same token some mma fight are 2 guys on the floor in a deep embrace, whispering in each other's ears for 3-5 minutes each round.

So they have gotten smarter about what their work efforts are worth. They demand a bigger cut of the pie. They see that TV personalities that get ratings, not great fights. They see almost 2 mil buy Tyson v Mcneely or 4.5 mil buy Floyd V Manny, both which we as boxing fans knew would be blowout wins.

I get that we don't have epic matchups. How can we when the fighters that get a lot of the push on networks are incomplete? They lack skills, how to cut of the ring and other basics of the sport.

If you are un happy with what you are getting, direct your anger at those who are making it happen- the networks and sanctioning bodies. I just don't think its right to get mad at the fighters for being smarter about their business when every "worker" in sports has become more educated about the business.

Do you really need fighters to be taken advantage of for you to enjoy the sport?

I watched 4 UFC fights tonight and every one of them had more excitement than I have seen in all the PBC cards to date combined. For some of us it is not a question of either/or, we can enjoy both equally. Unfortunately there is little to enjoy or admire about most boxing matches lately considering the fact that no one has the balls to take the chance of losing to a quality opponent.

You do know that Duran QUIT in the middle of a fight?

Not to mention Ali was hated in his day for his style of fighting and style of conducting business.

This is also due to the fact MMA incorporates more tools, so there is more contact regardless. Kickboxing is even better because it is pure striking. Boxing is chess and I can understand if everyone can't appreciate the level of skill applied by your slicksters, but complaining isn't changing a thing, so might as well start watching alternative sports ie mma/kickboxing.

when I've watched ufc I've been bored by lack of striking. mma fans say boxing is holding/clinching... well, while I accept jujitsu is a very effective art, its boring to watch for me as a lay person as whole rounds spent on the floor, so fk those who say anything about clinching while favouring that.

modern boxing can produce entertaining wars like that of ward gatti, not entertained by bradley-provo??
