Should Rafael Marquez be in the top 5 P4P?

    Vote yes or no.

If you haven't seen him fight, or do not know of his ring accomplishments....please don't vote.

    He's close, but not yet.

He needs a more reccent big name win or a title in a higher weight class.

I'd say 10-5 can be justified at this point, but not top 5 yet.

Definatly has the potential, and is an exciting fighter.

I really value the input of people responding to this thread.

Simply because I've made the case for him being a top 5 fighter, and namely his impressive win streak including the two knockout victories over Too Sharp and Tim Austin...two potential future HOF fighters.

i saw his fight against mabuza and i was very impressed. he is up there but not #3 in my list. p4p should be based on recent accomplishments, that's why its an ever changing list and as they(BS.com) themselves commented, Marquez has not been involved in big fights since 2003. i'd put him after hatton in that list.

he is a very good fighter and has beat some very good fighters...but he needs to move up in weight because traditionally the lower weights don't get the recognition they desrve therefore they get lost when p4p rankings are made ..

hes beaten solid opposition, but i dont have him top five. however, i think he will be top 5 by the end of the year, not because he beats a good opponent, but by default
