Comments Thread For: Felix Trinidad Feels Welterweight Division Has Diminished

Former three division world champion Felix "Tito" Trinidad feels the current landscape of the welterweight division is of low comparison when reflecting back on the fighters, and fights, of year's past.

Trinidad captured world titles at welterweight, junior middleweight and middleweight but made his name and career at 147-pounds.

Felix Trinidad was a champion inside and outside the ring. A KO puncher in the ring and a brutally honest person outside the ring!!

He is correct; look at the Pacquiao-Mayweather fiasco. That should've happened 6 years ago.

It has but this stuff comes and goes..

For the past few years, the division has been devoid of true welters and you saw the division get run by guys from lower weights ie floyd, manny, Bradley, marquez

When tito was a welter, you had guys like Ike, lopez, Oscar, campos, etc. True welters..

Before tito, the welters were weak and got invaded by pernell...

Anytime welter is weak it gets invaded by the talented lower weight guys

Trinidad, Oscar, and even Ike would beat everyone at welter
