its close. chavez has more longevity no matter how unfair it is. with that said salvador had a very short career and guess what, this is still a discussion. says everything that needs to be said imo.

Sanchez comp for his career had 2 fighters that eclipse anything on JCC"s resume. His style was ahead of it's time he was the overall better fighter. Brilliant fighter who was both highly technical and exciting at the same time. My second favorite fighter of all time.

It's hard to say how Sanchez' career would have played out but the kid did a lot in such a short time. I will say that I have spoken to a lot of older Mexican guys and most of them feel that Sanchez was superior to Chavez and would have been Mexico's greatest fighter.

Working overtime on the drivel today? Two ridiculous posts? Good job, man.

Only this generation of fight fans (and wiki minded boxing "historians") would call JCC overrated. He never quit, and he began to fight like a mortal somewhere around 90 win mark. We can romanticize the greatness of Sanchez due to the tragedy of his death. But, bottom line: JCC has the legacy, the record, the dramatic wins, and fought as featherweight and ended up fighting welterweights because he smoked everyone. Sweet Pea got the best of him, but I'm not dazzled by a defensive exhibition like that. So, it didn't take much from Chavez' greatness.

You must be trolling...or just lonely.

              Biased thread.....

This thread shows your bias for SS. Saying that Chavez Sr. was overrated and that Sanchez was the GOAT is IGNORANT. If you had said that he was your favorite, then okay. But you didn't. You're a fanboy for calling Chavez Sr overrated. He was a great fighter. PERIOD. He's an ATG. Sanchez was on his way but we all know what unfortunately happened there. He was a great fighter. He is one of my favorite to watch but I can say that and still give Chavez Sr his just do as well. It's the difference between maturity and immaturity. Who would've won a fight between them? I don't know but I'd lean toward Chavez Sr. This site is becoming a cartoon channel full of Fanboys and immature posters who like to argue, both fact and opinion. Smh.

Ricardo Lopez is #1 in my book, but I definitely don't see Sanchez ahead of Chavez. The fact Sanchez's career was cut short hurts his overall legacy too much from my pov.

Oscar De La Hoya is the great. Chavez was no different then Yory Boy Campas.

NO FIGHTER WITHOUT A DEFENSE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AN ATG. He lost to Frankie ****ing Randall in his prime
