    Cotto-Canelo at 90% says Penagaricano

Miguel Cotto is on vacation, but his team is not.

The negotiations for the planned showdown between WBC Middleweight Champion Puerto Rican Miguel Angel Cotto and Mexican Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez continued this week with great progress and facing an official announcement at any time in the month of July.

Cotto and Canelo, who have been before in this negotiating position, are on track to face on November 21 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

But both headquarters and the proposed date are still analyzed and may undergo some changes.

"Everything is still very good and positive," said Gabriel Peñagarícano lawyer, legal adviser Cotto and who is responsible for negotiating with Oscar de la Hoya, President of Golden Boy Promotions.

"We are at 90 percent. We're still not clear whether it will be on that date (November 21) but we'll let it know quite possibly in July. The important thing is that everything has gone well and I understand will soon finalize an agreement. You understand that yes, the fight will be in November", he reiterated.

Cotto, who won the 160-pound World Boxing Council (WBC), fought last June 6 in New York, against Australian Daniel Geale. Whom he dispatched in the fast lane in the fourth assault in a fight held at the Barclays Center Brooklyn, New York.

While Canelo also did the same in May by knocking out James Kirkland in the third round in Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

"This is a big fight in which there are many details and aspects to deal with," he added Peñagarícano.

That 10% chance of it not happening is Cotto waiting on a call from Ellerbe offering a Floyd Mayeeather fight. Lol

Cotto and his fucing vacations. He took a vacation of damn near a year after winning the title. Canelo is ready to go right now and he has always been ready for Cotto. It's not a nightmare for Canelo. Getting Cotto in the ring is a dream come true for Canelo. If Cotto wasn't such a lazy fat fuc taking vacation after vacation after vacation this fight could be in late September. Instead the fight is over 4 months away. If I come on this board I have read stuff from over the top devoted Cotto fans talking as if the fight was over and Cotto KOed Canelo in the first round. Unlike some Cotto fans I don't claim to know the future before it happens. Canelo and Cotto are both excellent fighters and either man could win. That's why it's such a big fight. Cotto hasn't won this fight just yet. This Canelo fan hopes Canelo sends Cotto on a permanent vacation.

Rooting for Cotto; but honestly this fight is 50-50 IMO.

Don't worry Cotto still has 10% to **** up. He doesn't want this fight and neither does Roach so they still have time to come up with something. Cotto's comeback is a mirage I feel. Careful Arum/Roach/TR opponent picking as always has everyone convinced Cotto is a killer again. If he stops or whips Canelo I will 100% believe it. But I think Canelo is going to put a beating on him.
