Comments Thread For: Ustinov Faces Walker in Manchesterl After Chisora Bails

A new opponent is in line for Alexander Ustinov this weekend in Manchester, England. The once-beaten heavyweight contender from Russia will now face American journeyman Travis Walker, who replaces former title challenger Dereck Chisora in a development that somehow flew well under the radar.

Ustinov (30-1, 21KOs) was slated to face Chisora on a Manchester bill that includes a vacant lightweight title fight between Terry Flanagan and Jose Zepeda. His appearance on the show serves as the first fight as part of a three-year co-promotional contract with Frank Warren.

Seems like Chisora doesn't want to fight anymore.

    Tyson Fury took his soul.

chisora may never fight again. He made a few million from my understanding & he fought some tough competition early in his career. 25 fights & he was in the ring with fury twice, helenius, vitali, haye, kevin Johnson, scott & gerber. He looks as though he got as far as he could go. He's still a fringe contender & a solid gatekeeper but when he stepped up to the top 10 guys he got beat. I can't blame him if he never fights again but I wouldn't mind him having a few more fights. If he is good with his money he will live comfortably. I'm sure motivation could be lacking since he knows he can't beat the top guys. what is the point of going on? If he isn't motivated then there is no sense fighting a giant like Ustinov. Ustinov should take out walker early. walker doesn't have much left...

Ustinov is not one of the top guys, his power is moderate, even a KO win over Walker is questionable.
