Ward is basically a nobody in boxing right now and he is the one who is in great need and he is a distant B side to either GGG or Kovalev or any active top contender today for that matter.
I think you have your head up GGG's ass. Hes not a star.
GGG needs Ward more than Ward needs GGG
If Ward retires today, hes a HOFer and one of the best super middleweights ever.
If GGG retires today he would be..... nobody really. A hype train who smashed tomato cans.
Lets not kid ourselves on who needs who more. Ward has a huge fight infront of him against Kovalev, which both sides have been dicussing already.
Ward is the big fight for GGG. Hes busy calling out smaller fighters, praying they fight him for a payday, just like Martinez did before him.
Ward is making 2 million fighting tune ups, he doesnt need GGG, and his legacy wouldnt suffer because a fighter refused to move up in weight to fight him. Your post was just silly.Last edited by MrP4P; 07-08-2015, 09:24 PM.

I would take Loefflers statement with a grain of salt though, he probably means since Ward can barely sell any tickets, has been very inactive and GGG is on top of the game, setting records and selling a ton of tickets everywhere he fights - if Ward wanted a 50-50 split now he would have to make a compromise and meet GGG in the middle. If ward can actuallly rise his market value and bring more to the table, they would meet at 168.
It's all totally irrelevant anyway if you actually read the interview since Ward needs another couple tuneups first.

I already said it, fight should be @168 50/50 split and neutral venue.
But I also think that Ward's team should answer this with a counteroffer :@168 50/50 in oakland. If they go silent, mmm I would see that as a plain duck.( by now)
I hope both camps start negotiations soon, I want this fight by the end of next year.
