Was that not a justifiable reason??? Ward was simply responding to a remark that Floyd made, knowing d*mn well that a fight with Floyd and himself would never happen. LOL! Y'all reaching

why can ward fight at 160 and not 164? please explain. you opened up the duck-gates so now you have to explain yourself. and i'm sorry but "he was not serious" is not a very good defense of ward's position since he said twice he would fight floyd at 160.

Same reason Floyd was willing to fight De La Hoya at 154 but not Canelo...something to do with a fighter willing to give up advantages to make a bigger payday and move up in career? Surprised a FIomo would play ****** about boxing being a business...

LOL @ What's the difference...when you answer your own question above..then get back to us in realty
Did Floyd ask for a catchweight, or did Canelo offer one? And let's not compare the two, simply because Floyd was outweighed by 15+ pounds against Canelo, while Ward and GGG would basically come in close to the same weight. GGG was 172 against Murray, while Ward was 176 against Smith. And now, "boxing is a business" but it's only a business when it relates to GGG. If any other fighters attempts to do this, they're a fraud right?

so there's a 4 pound difference hence the 4 pound catchweight...

you are the one claiming ggg is ducking yet when the fighters you like do the same thing you defend them. it's really mind boggling that you can't see how hypocritical you are being. basically you should either be consistent or don't post if you are just going to defend everything certain fighters do while bashing others for doing the same thing because a bot can just do your job.

you're f#cking idiot if you seriously think that Ward was willing to go to 160 for Floyd. That was just response for Floyd's trashtalk, like @hey be the man, move up to 160 and we'll see who stronger Floyd@ it's just for media.160 it's not realistically for Ward

He could have said it 10 times, that doesn't mean it was a serious remark. You're talking about a 168lber fighting a natural 140, or maybe 147lber. Ward wouldn't have put himself at such a disadvantage, especially for a fighter who hasn't fought below 168 since his Olympic days.

Anyone who knows boxing, knows and knew that such a fight would never happen. Ward can make rouge comments like that in that situation all day, because he knew it would never happen. Ward would be TOO big for Mayweather, that fight would have never happened. And yes, I'll repeat, "he wasn't serious".

Of course you guys will try to use that as your defense to justify GGG offering a catchweight in this situation. If you want the "best" you fight the best. Why not offer Froch and Chavez Jr the catchweight? Those two guys will certainly come in a lot heavier than Ward, there careers have shown that. wouldn't it be to GGG's advantage to offer catchweights to the much bigger fighters?
