Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder To Return on September 26th, on NBC

Slowly but surely, the heavyweight division is making efforts to return to its longtime status as boxing’s glamour division. While it has a long way to go before once again serving as the face of boxing, a pair of news items from Monday certainly help the cause.

Hours after terms were reached for World heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko to next defend his crown versus unbeaten challenger Tyson Fury on October 24, BoxingScene.com was informed that Deontay Wilder will also return to the ring this upcoming fall. The unbeaten titlist, fresh off of a 9th round stoppage of fringe contender Eric Molina, has September 26 penciled in for his next ring date. [Click Here To Read More]

It won't be a legit top 25 heavyweight.

Not Jennings nor Pulev nor Povetkin. It won't even be a fringe contender like Browne, Szpilka or Wach.

Haymon will get the WBC (We Be Crooks) to rank another journeyman like Molina, or a completely shot guy like Lyakhovich.

I can see why they did this with Espinoza's bastard son on Showtime... so here... I expect somebody halfway decent.

So either Arreola or Browne since those are the 2 names thrown around the most...maybe Browne because he's big, looks intimidating, undefeated and would look competitive on paper.

Big Daddy get's blown out IMO, but this is a good t.v move for them

Everything Wilder hated about the division he's becoming. Molina and now another whatever.

I actually don't want to see Arreola..but I wouldn't complain since it's NBC..would rather see him vs Tarver or Glazkov...

I think Browne is a fine opponent for this kind of event...remember this a stay-busy tune up fight before the Mandatory and then potentially Klits next Spring-Summer...

Arreola's Mexican so Wilder v. Arreola on May's undercard actually makes sense...
