Yeah I don't get it either. The guy is 34-1 and has already proved he can beat journeymen-level opponents and yet continues to fill his record with them. I know he lost against Rios, but surely he's improved since then and doesn't need 5 straight tune-ups?

PBC matchmaking is weird so far. Some good fights and quite a few real head scratchers. Maybe that will change whenever Schaefer officially joins the team, time will tell.

They're building Thurman up. If it was the old model, you'd never see Thurman on ESPN, he's passed this level. Not a bad deal to get him on there. Can't expect the opponent to be that great plus he's coming off a pretty grueling fight. I don't know if Thurman is the real deal but I like how they're maneuvering him so far.
