When Wlad beats Fury, I'll rephrase it so the easily offended cease to have to get their scheriproct from the cabinet, if Wlad beats Fury then goes on to defeat Wilder and Joshua will he be the GOAT ?

Really? Who's Jennings beaten that's so much better than anyone on Fury's resume? Perez was decent but not outstanding, and he nearly fought Jennings to a draw. Szpilka was an awkward slugger with a poor chin whose only name win was an extremely faded Adamek. Fedosov was pretty good but again hardly outstanding in any way, and certainly wouldn't have trouble Fury had they fought. Lyakhovich was completely shopworn.
Fury's got Chisora and Cunningham on his resume, two names that are very comparable to anyone on Jennings's resume besides Wlad. He also beat his best opponent (Chisora) far more emphatically than Jennings beat his (Perez). Even his second tier opponents like Abell and Hammer aren't any worse than, say, Fedosov or Bowie Tupou.
Honestly, their resumes aren't that different at all.Last edited by Fury4daWIN; 07-08-2015, 11:57 PM.Comment

Pulev has a much stiffer jab than Fury so it's not surprising he was able to momentarily rock Wlad with it. Fury's jab is much longer and looser, more like a whip that a ramrod. It'll be useful but it'll have a different effect.Comment

That I've seen with my own eyes? I'd have to say absolutely yes. One of the most dominant champions ever IF that turns out to be the case.
However you, Wlad and the majority of NSB may be in for a rude awakening. This ain't no lea-PIE.Comment

Everything you've written in this thread is spot on.Why? Fury has fought 6'5 guys before? He has Hughie Fury in the gym every day. He's sparred Joshua and sparred other fighters all over the world. Fought big, small, movers, sluggers - the lot. He's had a solid upbringing.
The obvious question to ask is - Who fights/has similar attributes to Wlad? It's a common mistake for Klitschko opponents to find a sparring partner who's just big. Wlad moves around the ring too - he's not a stiff like Wach.
I listened to an interview with Jonathon banks today and he said that it's a problem that they haven't fought anyone like Fury and they can't find sparring partners that emulate him either. He said they'd like to get Hughie there.
So it's a problem for both fighters, but that happens when two good guys meet.
Wlad has experience, but at the end of the day it's a fight. Whoever wants it more will win.Comment

Good points. It's become fashionable (after the fight, natch) to label Chisora shopworn and mentally finished, primarily due to the ease with which Fury handled him. This was a man, by the way, coming off a five fight win streak and in one of the best shapes of his career, whom many were expecting to demolish the clumsy, untalented and oafish Fury. Since no one who is a current critic of Fury seems prepared to alter their opinions of the man, they must instead alter the opinions of his opponents when he batters them. Biggest test of his career turns into fat, shot bum overnight. It's a familiar pattern. Not if you look at Fury's last 2 fights against Chisora and Hammer.
Fury moved like a MW and peppered both of them with every punch in the book, and a few that aren't in any book, without taking a single meaningful shot himself in return.
Ok, Hammer and Del Boy are not Wlad, but both are solid, competant pros, and Fury made them look like novices.
If Wlad had given Chisora a shot and handled him as easily as Fury did, people would be calling it one of Wlad's best ever performances. Truth.
Fury's last two performances have been masterful. His win against Hammer was probably his most dominant, one sided thrashing of a solid opponent in years. Regardless of what one might think of Hammer (who was universally ranked within the top twenty I believe), it takes a high level of talent for a big man to put on a show like that. It wasn't just a big guy battering a smaller guy, it was a virtual humiliation.Comment

He doesn't have to beat those guys to be considered a top heavyweight. He's already amongst the most dominant heavyweights ever. GOAT is probably a subjective term though.
Is he the most amazing fighter? Probably not too many would agree he is. Is he one of the most dominant forces who controlled two full eras of heavyweights if he beats those guys? Absolutely - those are just facts.
Hasn't tasted defeat in more than a decade, beat pretty much all challengers there were for his crown, continued into his 40s and was still dominant..
Not many, if any, heavyweights can say they've done that.Comment
