good fight, but i just think fury's defence is too leaky and big targets like pulev and wach usually get absolutely pummelled by wlad
This. Size isn't an advantage against Wlad, it just means you aren't getting out of the way of his right hand, or his left hook, or his jab... which tends to be a bad thing because he can hit pretty hard.
Fury doesn't have the greatest chin in the world either, or the greatest defense, or power...
Id be surprised if he won. I think wlad would have to injure his knee and compromise him mobility for Fury to have a chance.
Fury has developed his punching power quite a bit over the last couple of years. Early in his career he would just stand in the pocket and slug it out - But he had no concept of how to use his power. Peter has taught him that more and more. However, it's evident that he's been focused on his boxing rather than his boxing all the way back to the Johnson fight. He's become an infinitely better boxer since Peter took over, and the rest has come with it. And he also can fight to use his size advantages now. He didn't do that before. His jab is also a lot better than early in his career where he basically had no jab.
Fury has good power, obviously not Wlad power, but enough power to hurt all the heavyweights out there. If he was to stop Wlad it would most likely be because of a series of punches rather than one-shot though.
But I agree that the decision win for Fury is more likely for some reason (than him KO'ing Wlad)
No question about that at all.
yea,,,,fury has descent power. just dont think its on the level of a sanders or brewster who were able to crack wlads chin. volume and combinations is what fury really has going for him against wlad. he could tire him enough to get him out of there of course but I think a decision would be more likely. if he fights smart and doesnt get too ****y like he did with cunningham he has a great chance imo

wlads always had more success offensively against the bigger guys but none of them were quite as big as fury or moved as well. should be interesting. at least there shouldnt be much clinching with fury being the taller guy. dont recall wlad holding much in fights with guys his size
Damn, this will be Wlad's most hyped up fight since David Haye. Steve Cunningham, a cruiserweight, was able to knock down Fury but just Fury's big size, height, and punch makes this fight interesting.
Fury doesn't have much of a punch though, he wears guys down with size and activity, he isn't particularly heavy handed at all.
I think Furys reach and mobility could be a factor if he uses them, which he basically never does.

I think that's a key point people overlook. Sure Wlad looked great vs Wach, but Wach fights nothing like Fury. At all. It's like fighting small guys. You have a puncher-mover like Haye or a come forward guy like Peter. Same size but definitely made Wlad look different (especially the second Peter fight).
It's going to be hard to hold for either fighter especially lean. It'll be interesting to see what happens if Fury makes his 40 year old legs move for 6-8 rounds.

If Fury can move the whole fight and stick his jab he could possibly win. He cant though. Fury can move for ~3 rounds, then he starts to stand still and falls inside with people, flicking out his little nothing jab with no authority.
Explosive Lefthook right hand from Wlad puts him to sleep most likely.
He hasn't fought anyone with any kind of athleticism since cunningham, and Fury is lucky Steve cant punch.
Fury is powerful enough, look what did he to Chisora. His face was an absolute mess by the time Fury had finished with him. Haye or Vitali couldn't do that.
As for Jennings lol, Fury would school that rookie.
Fury also has a superior engine to Wlad, and will fight strong for 12 rounds.
