Is Artur Beterbiev the next cross over star?

Once again, people need to do their homework. Yvon Michel has stated on a number of occasions that Beterbiev and Stevenson will NEVER face each other in the ring as long as they are both being promoted by GYM. Chances are that Stevenson will retire before either of them move to another promoter.Comment

GGG and Kovalev aren't really cross over stars, Pacquiao and Mayweather are. Maybe Wlad, at one stage Haye in the UK.i watches a few of arturs fights and the guy can throw down. i just wonder what you guys think as i see him as the next east european to cross over like ggg and kovolav have. I cant wait to see him fight stevenson tho as im sure kovolav management will let go of any belt in order not to fight him.
GGG is the closes to being a cross over star and Beterbiev is a good fight but I don't see him being cross over.Comment

i prefer boxing types but there is no question eastern europes fighters are on the rise and extremely entertaining. i mean dont get me wrong the kid does not blow me away but lets be far kovolav didnt really blow us away either we just loved him cause we knew the fights would end in a ko at some point and be very entertaining. i think this kid will only get better and i think his amateur background will show in big fights. i do think he gets a bit over eager for knockouts and leaves himself open and swings and misses but that will slowly stop the farther he goes up in competition. We might not get kovolav vs artur but the fight we will most likely get is artur stevenson. one things for sure tho now that al haymon is going after eastern europes amateurs as well top rank and gbp and other promotions are running out of recruits. its going to be interesting to see how things play out. the thing tho is if pbc is willing to put their titles and fighters on the line in purse bids lets hope people quit giving hbo a pass.Comment

that guy in youre signature what is his name? i watched him on the kovolav perez undercard on a stream and you could tell the guy was injured or sick or something. hes the other eastern european fighter i think will become a cross over star in the states if he so picks that route as well. by star i just mean a known fighter in the states. also whats his weight class?Beterbiev looks very good to me, if there's a flaw it's that his offensive footwork is not the sharpest but that may be nit-picking.
Kovalev would fight Beterbiev on HBO, unfortunately that's highly unlikely to happen.
Can he cross over? it's impossible to tell. The HBO hype machine is pretty effective in terms of building stars, it remains to be seen if PBC can emulate it.Comment

it depends on what youre criteria is. to me ggg is for sure a cross over star by cross over star i just mean a popular fighter in the boxing world in north america to me ggg is for sure that. so is kovolav and it shows in his viewership even in fights where his opponent has absolutely no chance. when i say crossover star i just mean at a kovolav type levelGGG really isn't a "crossover" star. I mean that's like Pacman, Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo etc. GGG is popular with more serious boxing fans than casual fight fans. The East Euros are quite popular with the boxing fans for many reasons so I think Beterbiev will be quite popular with hardcores but no casual will ever give a dang about him..Comment

Well him being on PBC gives him more exposure than the rest that is for sure. Especially when they start to put him on NBC or even ESPN.
Lomachenko and Ievgen Khytrov are younger and still in their 20's so they will have more time to develop into Stars. Lomachenko has that "IT" factor in the ring. While he is not a Knockout Artist he is just highly SKILLED and can do a little bit of EVERYTHING and he fights at an incredible pace. Lomachenko has the goods to be P4P King one day. Also he has a style that will still be effective once he starts to move up because he is SKILLED he is not just depending on Power and scoring KO'sComment
