He is definitely right, boxing has the worst fans in sport period! How can anyone complain about what we are seeing so far? PBC is not even a year yet to my knowledge and they are upstaging or matching previous nights/cards. The only reason PBC gets hated on is because Haymon is behind it and I still don't get that reason neither.

Boxing fans are pretty finicky no denying that, it is kind of the nature of the sport because a lot is up to how you view fights (which can vary wildly) and how closely one really watches how things work in the ring.

It's pretty ****** that people are rooting for it to fail and celebrating when things go wrong. Whatever you feel about Al Haymon, you should want this to succeed and do well.

PBC has made some bad fights, but it has also made some that we really wanted to see, and overall has done well providing world class matchups on free TV. That's a good thing.

I don't know about that, fans are awful in every sport. 5 minutes on a forum dedicated to any sport will have you thinking those fans are the worst in sports.

That is kind of true, in baseball you have old school eyeball guys versus the sabermetric crowd which are literally calculus lessons and maybe physics.

Hard to call someone willing to do that much math a bad fan though, or reading through that math understanding it (or trying to) to argue why that formula is flawed.

Fantasy football guys versus real NFL team fans is horrendously bad also.

              Really now?

Please enlighten us on who is putting out as competitive fights with top talent consistently like PBC then?

What great line up of competitive fights have HBO or Showtime put on that compete with what PBC has done in just 4 months?

I'm not feeling the move from very good fights on NBC to putting good to average fights on ESPN, I will say...

The commentating for the NBC broadcasts has been atrocious as well...

Sorry I'll take quality over quantity any day. Crap is crap whether it's free or not. And by the way ESPN, SPIKETV, FOX1, etc is not free. And just because Haymon disrespected boxing so badly in 2014 with fights like Garcia vs Salka don't mean we should now grade on a curve and act like Thurman vs Collazo should be praised. That's a garbage fight and with as many better fighters Haymon has at welterweight Thurman should be fighting one of them. Or he should be fighting one of the top welterweight that other promoters have. Oh yeah I forgot Haymon refuses to work with those guys.

So we got tons of mismatches and I haven't even touched how terrible the TV production is. Little to no punch stats in between rounds. Half the time if there is a knockdown you either get no replay after the round of it or a repeat of a crappy angle. It takes them 2 or 3 rounds to finally show you the knockdown. Corny walk ups to the rings. No ring announcer. The announcers suck. Terrible interviews after the fight if they give you an interview at all.

PBC is like fast food McDonald's. Looks cheap and leaves a bad taste when you are done.
You know, no one is forcing you to watch right? Its not madatory at all. You can always just watch HBO fights ignore the others and then you would have nothing to complain about. But I guess not having anything to complain about is the problem.

But none of those guys actively hope that the sport fails. Its freaking nihilistic. Hell the most football fans complain about is Thursday night games tiring out the players.

Here we have "fans" that want the sport to be harder to access, and for legitimate names to pretty much get shelved for no other reason than they work with a guy (who might I add is pretty much a shadow) they don't like , and it irks them to the nth degree.

Crazy thing is if Floyd agreed to have his next fight on CBS for free... FIomos would complain about that saying that Floyd is missing out his PPV money... and Floyd-haters would complain that he's cherry-picking a bum (which I would assume he'd do for leaving that kind of money on the table)... so boxing fans will always have something to complain about... and I think they like it that way...
