But hes supposed to be this big threat to a guy with serious KO power, in a higher division? Based on what? Who has he beaten to give you any inkling that hes good enough to even beat any top 5 middleweight when hes struggles with the dudes at 154?
So let me ask you something.

Who is worthy to fight Golovkin that realistically will fight him in the near future?

And yes, absolutely, it is my assertion that Lara coming up from 154 will be by far the best and most dangerous fighter that Golovkin has yet faced were this fight to be made.

The dude is 33. If he wants to establish a credible legacy as an atg level fighter, he'd better get busy.

          • People don't seem to understand that it isn't even about whether Lara beats Golovkin or not. Lara would be the best fighter Golovkin has ever fought, and he's the best option right now besides Ward or Froch, neither of which are likely.

That alone should be enough. Why argue against the best opponent Golovkin can fight right now at 154 or 160? You should want that fight, especially if you think Golovkin crushes him like I do.

It sounds insecure as hell to argue that Lara shouldn't get the fight, like you're so worried that Lara could take GGG the distance and make him look bad that you'd rather it doesn't happen. If Froch or Ward aren't the pick, then Golovkin should try to fight Lara. Simple as that.

No one is saying that he shouldn't get the fight for any reason other than it would be a dull, boring affair for as long as it would last, which would not be very long. I think GGG should fight Lara, Ward, Froch, Cotto, Canelo, whoever has the balls to get in the ring with him and is ACTUALLY ABLE TO GET THE APPROVAL TO DO IT.

Until someone can prove that Lara is ready, willing AND ABLE to fight on HBO, there is not point at all in discussing this fantasy fight. You may as well talk about GGG fighting Leonard or Duran or Hearns as those fights have as much chance of happening as a Lara fight does due to the politics of the sport. If anyone is too ****** to understand that, there is nothing anyone here can do to improve your intelligence enough so that you will understand it. Perhaps you should go to one of those brain exercise web sites and spend some time there to see if it may help you.

Here, give this one a try...

                  • meh don't care whether GGG should fight him or not, i just don't get where all this hype for lara comes from. they said he was gonna outclass canelo badly, didn't happen, and a straight up bum in angulo who punches at like 1 mile an hour had him doing the elevator dance. not to mention that he goes the distance with other bums on a regular basis. he's supposedly this cuban masterclass boxer/bad man but all i see is another miguel vazquez.

People have repeatedly said if there are no better fights available and Lara can fight on HBO, make it happen. No one is worried Lara will beat Golovkin or make him look bad. It seems highly unlikely however and that's the whole point, I mean Golovkin hasn't even been able to get Peter Quillin so it seems unlikely Haymon and HBO will come together for Lara of all people.
