There will be no drama show in this one. Lara will probably get robbed like he did canelo but will probably taste the canvas. Lose lose situation for mexican fighting style

Lara could suck at 160. He could lose to Rubio, Geale and Billy Joe Saunders for all we know. Or maybe Lara is awesome at 160. Hard to say since we don't know being he's never fought there.
Regardless, if the fight is available they should make it. Knocking out Lara would probably look good at least short term.
He could lose to Robert Steiglitz or Paul Smith. We just don't know!Last edited by Dirk Diggler UK; 07-06-2015, 07:07 AM.

hes certainly not worse than Gabe Rosado who was at the time a 154.
and before people **** on rosado remember he was competitive with quillin
with all that said...Lara gets hurt if not loses almost every round vs GGG

I'll say this for him though - if boxing was a non-contact sport and points were awarded for dancing, posing, and flicking 6/7 light jabs per round at your opponents gloves, then Erislandy Lara would be P4P No 1.
he also looked pretty good vs PW
he didn't look good vs canelo because canelo was too cautious coming forward (he's more of a counter puncher anyways)

Its weird how you suddenly don't believe in weight classes when it comes to Golovkin and think weight and size doesn't matter. But I'm sure if Froch would fight Kovalev you'd pretty concerned for the guy who has never fought at 175 pounds in his career and would say the size and power was too much of a difference. I mean yeah we get, Lara is a good fighter, he has a good resume at 154, but we've seen him get out muscled against guys like Carlos Molina, Angulo and even Vanes at times. If he's getting out muscled and hurt against guys like that at 154, what do you think is going to happen to him at 160 against a guy who is even bigger, stronger and a better fighter than those guys? It's a bad match up for Lara stylistically in itself, add the size difference and it spells disaster for Lara.
It's OK to favor GGG over Lara but to degrade Lara's career by comparing him to Monroe is nonsense. And it's funny because a lot of your teammates are demanding Floyd and Canelo to move up to 160 to fight GGG even though they've never fought at the weight before.
And if you want to degrade Lara because of the Angulo fight (where he won by TKO and was winning on points) why not use the same logic for Monroe/Boone, Lemiuex Rubio, Lee/Chavez Jr & Vera, etc. ? They all got checked but those are fights that you are defending/demanding.

I see many people saying Lara is better than anyone GGG has fought. What makes Lara better than Murray? These same people will say, "Monroe has only 6 KOs". Lara has 12. If Lara wants to make the fight so bad, why did he just fight another jr middleweight instead of proving his point that he can beat the best middleweight in the world? Lara can't even decisively beat Canelo, but somehow hes going to be the guy with 20 straight KOs and 14 title defenses? Based on what exactly? Is it the fact that he has 0 middleweight wins?
