So if Klitschko beat Mayweather it would be by far the most skilled person on his resume. Same logic.

Lara could suck at 160. He could lose to Rubio, Geale and Billy Joe Saunders for all we know. Or maybe Lara is awesome at 160. Hard to say since we don't know being he's never fought there.

Regardless, if the fight is available they should make it. Knocking out Lara would probably look good at least short term.

The thing is, he would be as good of a win as GGG has. But, there's no way it's going to happen with the politics of boxing right now. And this isn't important enough to be to get made. No ones ducking anyone, it just ain't gonna happen.

Who has Lara beat at middleweight? Monroe IS a middleweight, and a good sized one at that who was 175-178 pounds in the ring. He was ranked at middleweight. If Lara were to fight Monroe I'd favor Monroe to win for sure. Not because I think Monroe is the better fighter or has a better resume but because he's the bigger fighter and fights at 160.

Its weird how you suddenly don't believe in weight classes when it comes to Golovkin and think weight and size doesn't matter. But I'm sure if Froch would fight Kovalev you'd pretty concerned for the guy who has never fought at 175 pounds in his career and would say the size and power was too much of a difference. I mean yeah we get, Lara is a good fighter, he has a good resume at 154, but we've seen him get out muscled against guys like Carlos Molina, Angulo and even Vanes at times. If he's getting out muscled and hurt against guys like that at 154, what do you think is going to happen to him at 160 against a guy who is even bigger, stronger and a better fighter than those guys? It's a bad match up for Lara stylistically in itself, add the size difference and it spells disaster for Lara.

After golovkin corners him and kos him, there's going to be 100 threads about golovkin picking on 154lb fighters, and how Lara had been forced into middleweight without being able to fill into the weight, and how ggg is ducking everyone in 168,and how he'll be exposed as soon as he goes up 8lbs and fights fighter xyz.
          pretty much this^^^^

C'mon bro, I understand you're being extreme to prove a point but let's be realistic about it at least lol. Lara and GGG are very close in weight on fight night. I understand he hasn't fought at 160, but stylistically the fight is intriguing

Lara wouldn't do any better vs GGG than Monroe Jr did.

Yes, Lara is a quality win for Golovkin if he gets it. The thing is Lara has a tought style, has a name in boxing, but he doesn't really bring the money. I think Golovkin is looking for the big money fights now. Lara won't bring him that, but he would give Golovkin a great win, should he get it, but will that translate with the fans? Probably not. I think Lara is probably too small, think he probably gets stopped.
