Thomas Hearns was nearly impossible to outbox..

      Willie Pep..

      Sweet Pea..

      Niccolino Locche

These the guys I think of at like at the highest level in the past.

      Currently..

It's Mayweather, Ward, Rigondeaux. I will have to say Klitschko as well.

In his prime if more aggressive, James Toney would have been damn near impossible to outbox

Finally, i was waiting for some casual to bring that up.

He wasnt outboxed, he got tired and was knocked out. Losing =/= outboxed.

Fighters of the past like Hearns and Leonard didn't really master the art of angles and in and out movements like modern fighters like Jones or Mayweather or Pacquiao. So I would say that some fighters of today would outbox fighters of the past due to the natural evolution of the sport and fighters having more tricks up their sleeves and utilizing angles and footwork to create distance deception in order to control range, compared to older fighters who had to set up punches by other punches. Also fighters of today are more athletic which helps a lot if u r a boxer.
