I don't remember Morales ever seeking out a fight with Floyd. If my memory serves me correctly, thry spent the majority of their careers consistently at least two divisions apart. During the whole "golden era of featherweights", the only one mentioned as a potential opponent for Floyd was Hamed.

Before May 3: Morales sees Pacquiao as having the tools and abilities to beat Floyd.
After May 3: Morales thinks Floyd only picks opponents at the right time when they don't have the tools and abilities to beat him.
