Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz (22-0, 19KOs), 36-years-old, is very focused on capturing a world title. He was very close last September when he knocked out Lateef Kayode in the first round to capture the WBA interim-championship.

Following the Kayode fight he was stripped and suffered a suspension after testing positive for anabolic steroids. He came back to action last month on Montreal as part of the David Lemieux-Hassan N'Dam undercard and knocked out Byron Polley in one round.

Looking forward to Ortiz getting back amongst it. Hopefully he can face one of the WBA fighters from Browne and Chagaev setting up a mandatory vs Klitschko, that fight would be something if Ortiz continues to progress as he was before the suspension.

wins over a washed up monte barrett & a positive drug test win over kayode doesn't mean he is a serious threat yet. he is 36 & better move fast. He has a better team behind him now so it's now or never. he needs to step up now! he had 362 amateur bouts & 22 pro fights. He needs legit opponents above trialhorse level. no more Byron polleys & joseph rabottes. There is no doubt he has the talent but how will he do when he fights a live opponent?

Ortiz needs to fight a live opponent.

Time is running out for him.
